Bunny (AL) Deserves Her Happy Ending
When Bunny arrived at the shelter, her condition was heartbreaking. This young Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix, estimated to be about 2 years old as of October 2026, was suffering in ways no dog should ever have to endure. She was emaciated, her body showing the effects of neglect and hardship, and she had a horrific open, gaping wound on her neck that required immediate medical attention. It would have been easy for Bunny to lose faith in people. She didn't. Despite the pain, despite the hunger, despite whatever she experienced before rescue, Bunny remains incredibly sweet. She greets people with kindness, seeks affection, and still wants to trust. She is also good with other dogs, proving that her gentle spirit has survived even when her body has suffered. Today, Bunny is safe. She is receiving comprehensive care from our veterinary partner, where she is being treated, nourished, and given every opportunity to heal. Day by day, her wounds are being cared for, her strength is returning, and the future that once seemed so uncertain is becoming brighter. What Bunny needs now is something medicine alone cannot provide. She needs a family. She needs someone who will see past the scars and recognize the beautiful soul beneath them. Someone who will celebrate every milestone, from a healthier coat to a stronger body, and who will remind her every day that she will never again know pain, neglect, or abandonment. Bunny has already fought so hard just to get this chance. Now we're hoping the right person will step forward and give her the one thing she's never truly had: a loving forever home. If ever there was a dog deserving of a fresh start, it's Bunny. Apply online to adopt Bunny (AL) at .rescuedogsrocknyc.
