Brownie - Collie-German Shepherd Dog Mix Male Dog For Adoption in Palmer, Alaska, USA

Dog Breed: Collie / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat).

Some dogs want to be the life of the party, but Brownie would much rather keep things low-key by your side. This sweet, loyal boy is all about those one-on-one connections, whether that means joining you for a walk, enjoying some fresh air, tagging along for a car ride, or simply settling in beside you. Brownie originally came to the shelter after his lifelong owner passed away, leaving behind the home and people he knew. He had previously lived with four other dogs and has shown himself to be a sweet guy with the people he meets. He’s also quite the gentleman around the house! Brownie is potty trained, crate trained, trustworthy when left loose indoors, and not one to make a mess of your belongings while you’re away. He tolerates grooming well and is comfortable being handled, making those routine care days a little easier. Brownie previously lived with children and did well as they grew into walking toddlers. However, when one child began crawling, his herding instincts appeared to kick in, and it became clear that a home with very young children wasn’t the right fit. For that reason, we’re looking for a home with children ages five and up. Brownie has so much love to offer and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a faithful friend to share life’s everyday adventures with. He may not be the fetch-all-day type, but if you’re looking for a buddy who will happily walk by your side and appreciate being your special someone, Brownie might just be your guy.
