Meet Doris - A little girl with big opinions and an even bigger personality! Doris is a fun-loving, goofy girl who is convinced she knows exactly how everything should be done. Whatever you're doing, you can bet Doris wants to be right in the middle of it! She's happy to supervise, offer her own very confident opinions, and make sure things are done her way. Of course, she's still a puppy and is figuring out this whole world thing herself, but don't let her know that! Beneath that adorable bossy streak is a sweet, gentle girl who loves toys, playtime, and being part of the action. Doris is also a smart cookie! She's food motivated and already knows several commands, including sit, move, yes, and no. She's even learned to sit and wait for permission before enjoying her meals. With her eagerness to please and willingness to learn, she's going to be a fun girl to train! Currently weighing about 20–25 pounds, Doris is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog of approximately 50–60 pounds. She has a moderate energy level and should enjoy a nice balance of exercise, playtime, and hanging out with her family. Doris is friendly with new people, gets along with other dogs, and is good with children. She isn't housetrained yet, so her new family should be prepared to work on those puppy basics with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Doris is currently with one of our partner rescues in Mississippi, waiting for a foster or adopter to step up and help bring her to New Jersey. She'll need someone willing to open their home and give this sweet girl the chance to start her next chapter. If you appreciate a puppy with personality, a little bit of sass, and plenty of love to give, Doris might just be your girl. She's ready to supervise your household for years to come! Come meet Doris and let this little boss lady take charge of your heart! Doris is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Doris has been spayed and has a microchip. Her adoption fee is $600. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
