Our Maremma/Akbash puppies were purposely bred for the amazing qualities of both breeds. We have been working with this impressive cross and no longer have predators. Sophia, the dam of this litter, is pure Maremma- a proven guardian. She was purchased, shortly after young Scusi- Maremma/Akbash, to provide backup and additional training to his already strong instincts. Our puppies are bred for the amazingly powerful mix we have in our Scusi. His father is the sire of this litter. This breeding should bring fierce watchful protectiveness blended with always gentle human engagement. Nothing dares to breech their territory. Our pups are exposed to the scents and sounds of the fields from birth. At an early age, they are rubbing noses with the lambs, through the fences. The chickens are always around them, even sharing in their food bowl. Now they shadow momma Sophia and Scusi as they make their rounds, living among the sheep and chickens. These pups are strong and healthy- wormed every 2 weeks and fed quality science diet for large breed dogs. Vaccines given and continue on schedule. Whelp date was April 4, 2024.
