Have you ever met a cranky CKCS? Our cardiologist vet did a study on them and found that they have a higher level of serotonin than is typical in dogs. Serotonin is the happy hormone. They aren't just a dog for a quiet retired couple. They make amazing family pets with young kids. My children love them and are loved by them. Temperament and health are top priority for my breeding program. I won't breed a dog that is questionable. We do a full genetic panel to ensure we are avoiding inheritable diseases, we have patellas OFA certified, our cardiologist checks hearts, and our ophthalmologist does an eye exam. We do ENS on the puppies day 3-16. After that, as the puppies progress, we add in socialization and appropriate desensitization to our busy family life. The puppies are raised in our home.
