Posted Breed: Chocolate Labrador Retriever / Shar Pei / Mixed (short coat). ~~Breed: chocolate Labrador Retriever-main breed Color: Brindle Age: Adult Size: Med. 40lbs Nala means the loved one in an African language: Cocoa Nala is a chocolate lab and Shar Pei mix, approx. 2 years old. Cocoa Nala is fully housebroken, She is roughly 42lbs, and has a gorgeous soft coat Cocoa Nala is scared of some men, so she takes a little while to warm up. we have been working with her here to meet every person who visits the rescue and have everyone give her a treat and it is working really well. She is developing trust again with all people. When she receives a treat, she will lick the givers hand. she is an awesome dog and just needs a patient family or woman who will work with her. She loves her country walks and looks forward to them every day. Housebroken, knows basic commands, a slap happy girl who loves life, cuddles and hugs and will make a loyal companion for the right family. She has bonded really well to my personal chow-shepard mix so she will do well as an only dog or as a companion with a gentle male as a mentor Cocoa Nala will make an excellent watch dog and will be sure to let you know when strangers are about. Nala does love living in the country and we would love to see her go into a home on land and where her family will take her for walks or runs in the woods and fields. Cocoa Nala is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines and rabies. we regularly treat her for worms and parasite as a control. We would also like to see her new owners continue her training and enroll her in a good dog behavioral training school. she is intelligent and learns quickly.

If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Corgi / Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Molly is quiet, loving, kissy and a cuddler. the ultimate lapdog who likes to sleep with her humans at nite, she follows her foster around the house taking advantage of slow times to ask for a hug and cuddle. she is very intuitive and likes to be close. she would be awesome for an older child that really connects with animals, or a stay at home worker or mom. Molly is trained to use a doggie door and washable pee pads if left inside for long periods. She will need to learn a new routine with her adopters, so we will give you links on housetraining/potty training your new rescue dog. Molly only weighs ten pounds, she has a very soft medium length coat that is easy to care for with a little brushing everyday. She loves to lie in the sun on the lawn in the yard and she seems to like the car. We have not had much opportunity to test her on a leash here just due to the puppies and larger dogs in the rescue, so she may need some leash training. Molly is spayed/chipped, up to date on vaccines, Rabies, has had a dental cleaning/glands expressed nails trimmed and ears kept clean. she is soft, cuddly, attentive, loyal and very loving. Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Si erra is a sweet girl who has come a long way from the shy girl we first rescued. Sierra loves attention and has a wonderful smile when she is happy. Sierra Loves to roll over on her belly for rubs to be petted, she has the most incredible green eyes that just melt you. Sierra very much wants to be with her human and is a willing learner. she will need a very patient adopter who has the time and energy to work with her. while she has come a long way, she will be shy at first and will need some time to adjust. she would do best if a trainer were employed to help her once she is settled in to learn her basics. she is not leash trained and we can show you how to start working with her on this. so a yard will be a must so she can go outside as needed with out needing to be on a leash for walks. A very secure fenced yard is critical with no way for her to dig out anywhere under a fence. she is curious about the outside world and learned how to dig under the fence at the rescue facility. Sierra is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door, she is easily trained, however, we have not had a chance to do any leash training with her, so she will need some work on this. Sierra would do well if there is another dog in the home to bond with as she is very much a pack animal and loves other dogs. She is a very loving affectionate, smart puppy. Sierra is 22lbs pounds, so on the small side of medium. The adoption fee is $450.00 and covers all vaccines/spay/microchip/flea treatment/worming and parasite control, health cert and their rescue from the shelter. Breed: Brat
      Sex: Female Female
      Age: Young
      Location: Arlington, WA
Posted Breed: Rat Terrier / Boston Terrier / Mixed (short coat). About This Dog/puppy Tiny Dancer came to Rompin Paws as a 6 month old puppy whose male owner had 14 unspayed and unneutered dogs (2 were pregnant) and he became homeless. We took in Tiny dancer and her father Leon. Both dogs were incredibly emaciated and dehydrated. after proper vet care and treatments for parasites, both are thriving. Tiny dancer is an incredibly loving dog. due to her hoarding past, whi,le she gets along with the dogs here at the rescue, in foster care, she prefers to be the only dog and have her humans to herself. she would be great for a retired couplke who have the time and love to give her. it will be awhile before she toitally settles and realizes she is in her furever home and is less needy, but right now she needs a lot of love and one on one time. Tiny will reward her people with live and so much affection. Tiny has tall legs but is very narrow body which may fill in when she is an adult. she has a great appetite but burns off all her calories due to her energy level so we recommend 3-4x feeding a day while she is still growing. Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Tiny will be an awesome addition to a family that can give her the attention, exercise, training and affection she deserves. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences. 5) Secure visible fencing required. 6) You must have plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. 7) Please do NOT write us and ask if this puppy is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the puppy may not be available. 8) The FASTEST way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications for adult dogs come before puppy applications. There is always someone that will want to adopt a puppy. Health: Tiny has been spayed, microchipped, current on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. She has been wormed and flea treated, treated for parasites and tested negative for heartworm and Parvo History: Tiny came from a hoarding situation where the owner lost his home. Rompin Paws Rescue was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs RPR pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state Law. Notes from Tiny's Foster Home: Cody came to her as a 6 week old puppy, scared and needing his mom dog. he was taken in by a mom dachshund and her 6 week old puppy, so he has had a mentor to care for him and a sister to play with. Cody has blossomed and plays well with the fosters dogs. Cody is very intelligent, is Inquisitive, sweet and cuddly and will want to be wherever his human is. Cody is just a baby and will need another dog for a companion and mentor, or be heavily socialized with other dogs as part of his life plan if there is not another dog in the home. He will also be required to attend puppy and dog training classes until he can graduate with the Good Canine Citizen certificate. Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for Tiny please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/ There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application. Breed: Terrier Mix Color: Tan-red- With Black Age: 3 years Size: Small 10 lbs lbs Sex: female, spayed and chipped Video Url: https://www.facebook.com/rompinsalvati/videos/1556321927995292/ About This Dog/puppy Phyllis is an adorable Dachshund/Wire Haired Terrier mix with a cute little underbite and hair that sticks up on the top of her head. She arrived at our rescue from an overcrowded high kill shelter shortly after having pups, traumatized and fearful. She showed signs of having been abused. Phyllis was afraid of the other dogs at the rescue and so we immediately placed her in a loving foster home. The change in Phyllis has been amazing. She is now a happy, wiggly, playful little girl who twirls excitedly in circles for her food. Phyllis romps and plays with the other dogs in her foster home and then curls up with them and licks and grooms their faces. She loves car rides and her daily walks in the dog park where she approaches the other dogs wagging her tail. Phyllis also lives with laid back dog-savvy cats. She is fine with them, will sleep next to them on the couch, but definitely prefers her dog buddies. Phyllis is an affectionate and cuddly, yet calm dog. Her favorite thing is a tummy rub. She is very smart and so sweet! And she has beautiful expressive eyes. Given her past traumas, Phyllis would do best in a quiet home with a compassionate adopter who will give her lots of positive reinforcement. Phyllis would love another confident small dog buddy in her new home. And she would love to curl up in your lap and sleep in bed with you at night. Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Phyllis will be an awesome addition to a family that can give her the attention, exercise and affection she deserves. Both girls are very friendly, cuddly and affectionate. Roxxy, the beautiful, blue merle colored pup, loves to go for walks and has adjusted well to a harness and lead. Isabella, a soft furred black, is still in training and getting used to being on a harness, but she is coming along. both love being held and being in laps. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs. About Rompin Paws Rescue Rompin Paws Rescue is a licensed, non-profit organization working towards our 501C3, specializing in rescuing moms to be, moms with puppies, puppies without moms and other Death Row dogs. We are located in Western Washington State. Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them. We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship. Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California.. Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect and Emaciation, RPR focus's on feeding each rescue animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pet on the same foods for optimal health and a long life. RPR was established in April, 2015. we placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on Acreage in Arlington Washington. We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives Come Meet Our Pets... We have a home based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption. Our Adoption Process... Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at out facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. we continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.
