Her owners bred her and sold all her puppies and eventually turned her over to animal control. Despite that, she is a ray of sunshine. She loves other dogs and would play all day. She is great with people and kids and would love having a yard and a family. She would make a wonderful dog park dog or hiking buddy. She loves to be pet and having her belly scratched. She is in foster with multiple dogs and is housebroken. She is the sweetest girl ever and is ready made for a family, will it be yours? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Dog's Name: Valentino Estimated Breed: bassett/bulldog mix Approximate Age: 5 years Approximate Weight: Currently 58 lbs Currently Living at: Boarding Foster Valentino until he is adopted! Valentino the wonder boy! This stubby little guy is a feast on the eyes! What he lacks in stature, he makes up for in charisma. Valentino is very friendly, playful, and also a snuggler too. He does pretty well around other dogs but can be protective of his person. He absolutely adores kids. Valentino has separation anxiety so he'd do best in a home where someone was around often, and he'd do best as an only dog. He also had Addisons Disease which requires monthly medication (about $20 a month). Can Valentino the Lover, waddle into your home and heart?? He is a true lap dog at 58lb! Your new pet may require a refresher in house-training but is likely crate-trained. K-9 Lifesavers recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and new owner. You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://k-9lifesavers.org/how-to-adopt/. Dog's Name: Hero Estimated Breed: Boxer/terrier Approximate Age: 1year Approximate Weight: 50 pounds Currently Living at: FOSTER Adoption Fee: $300 Hero had a tough start to life, having been born and raised outside, being attacked by an animal, and picked-up by Animal Control all by the tender age of 3.5 months old. Despite his bleak beginnings, Hero has turned into a sweet, fun-loving, gentle pup. He loves playing with his toys, hanging out in the grass on a beautiful sunny day, loves to snuggle up to his foster mom, and absolutely loves going for walks. He is medium-energy but when he has energy to burn, he goes outside and runs around the backyard in one large circle. He will fetch toys and sometimes bring them back and when playing with his toys, likes to do roll-overs. Hero is still cautious around people but he has made huge progress and will blossom and bond with a patient family. Hero does well with other dogs, but dogs that are reactive, or very nervous transfer the energy on him and make him nervous too. Hero knows sit, down, drop, wait, and come and he listens very well. Hero is easily trainable and with more confidence building and patience, may grow out of his skittish behavior. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, age appropriate distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for most common intestinal worms, heartworm testing if the puppy is older than 5 months of age, monthly heartworm prevention starting at 5 months of age, monthly flea/tick prevention starting at 12 weeks of age, and transport costs from the original shelter to a foster home. K-9 Lifesavers will provide this medical care to this adorable puppy until he or she is adopted. Once this pup is adopted, their forever family will assume all medical and financial responsibility for him or her. As part of the adoption agreement, adopters agree to get the pup spayed/neutered. K-9 Lifesavers does not cover the cost of spay/neuter. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. Currently Living at: Loving foster home with other doggies Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Meet Roxy! This sweet pup was found with her brother wandering around in a yard in Georgia with no mama in sight. They were nothing but skin and bones. Since then, both pups have made an amazing turnaround. Roxy remains extremely shy and really needs another confident canine sibling to show her the ropes, so she can understand that the world is not such a bad place where humans can be trusted. She loves to cuddle and give kisses. Roxy listens very well- I never have to repeat any commands. Roxy is a very intelligent, loving, and sweet pup. Foster update: Roxy gets along great with Piper (foster sibling) but does not like cats (absolutely not). We haven't run into any escape issues :) Rox is crate trained and fully house broken- not one accident! She is low energy inside the house but loves to run around in the back yard like a crazy woman- and boy she is fast! Before adopting a puppy, please assess the amount of time you have to provide your puppy with proper house-training, crate-training, obedience training, love, socialization and, frequent potty breaks. K-9 Lifesavers recommends all new adopters enroll their new puppy into group obedience to ensure the puppy is well socialized and properly trained.
