Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Golden Retriever / Mixed (long coat). Our first step is an application which can be filled out atwww.cvrrescue.org p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #454545} Luke and Murphy are awesome golden doodle brothers. Luke is 10 and Murphy is 9. They have been together since Murphy was a puppy so they are very bonded and will be adopted together. They are super sweet, very smart and love to cuddle and get belly rubs. Both are impeccably house trained and crate trained. They both know sit, shake, down and stay. They both love toys and love to play. Luke absolutely loves fetch. He goes around the house finding toys and tennis balls to bring to his foster mom so he can play. And he usually sleeps with a tennis ball so he’s ready to roll in the morning. Murphy is that slightly uncoordinated little brother that hasn’t grown into his feet yet and follows you everywhere:) His favorite thing is bananas and he likes to sneak one or two off the counter for a midnight snack when no one is looking. They are on a limited ingredient diet of duck and oatmeal since both have allergies to chicken, turkey, and lamb. Both have been great meeting a wide variety of dogs and friendly with everyone they meet. This dogs adoption fee is $300 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. All animals are on flea and tick and parasite prevention for the duration in fostercare. We are an volunteer group, who process the applications so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone and email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process . We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the dog picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee and an adoption contract to be signed. The adoption fees help cover a portion of the care provided to the animals. All dogs and cats are microchipped and all animals adopted out are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. **All of our animals have a lifetime commitment. If for any reason, the adoption does not work out, the cats and dogs are to come back to CVRR, which is a NO kill rescue.*** The foster family and the rescue volunteers will choose the new home based on the best fit for the dog/cat. Our first step is an application which can be filled out at www.cvrrescue.org

More About Goldendoodle Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: Terrier / Boston Terrier / Mixed. Our first step is an application which can be filled out atwww.cvrrescue.org Foster mom Update 9/27/17: Stella ... So full of life. She was so shy when she came to us. Afraid to even think about giving kisses, getting too close, or coming inside. Now she will exfoliate a layer of skin with her slobbery kisses, push her way past you in her exuberance to be near you and with you, and joyously follow you from room to room. She appears to have been an outside dog in her previous life as she has no shame in peeing on the floor right next to you. She loves praise, though, so as long as you are vigilant about watching her for clues she will gladly do her business outside. She loves our fenced in backyard and while we are gone, we leave her outside. No issues at all with digging, and she hardly ever barks. At night when we bring her in, she can be a bit pushy trying to get ALL of everyone's love but never to the point of aggression with us or our other dog. Not food aggressive either, but seriously loves herself some dog chow. A bit of a Lynchburg foodie, you might say. ;) A note from Stella foster mom: STELLA is a sweet and super submissive post-puppy gal. Even when accosted by our resident mini Schnauzer who was acting like an ornery bully to her, Stella (3 times her size) would just avert her eyes and walk away with head lowered. Not sure what this sweet girl has been through in her life, but it sure hasn't ruined her inner beauty. Stella acts truly thankful for every meal and every loving pat on the head. Stella came into our care from a shelter. We don't know any background as she was a stray although she apparently had puppies because she still had milk when she came into the shelter. She is adjusting to life in a foster home very well. She was amazing on her 1st day of being introduced to the resident dogs, cats, and toddler. She seems to have a special liking for kids-maybe ready to be a nanny after having been a mama - haha!! Stella is a real sweetheart! This dogs adoption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. She loves everyone and everything she meets and simply needs some work with self control and learning some calming cues. Violet is smart and eager to please so we think with a good outlet for her exercise and someone with matched energy and adventurous spirit she will excell! Both have wonderful manners, are house trained, and don’t chew on anything other than their toys. They've made themselves at home in foster care and transitioned without any problems. August loves a good game of fetch and she just got her teeth cleaned so she’s ready to give kisses. Rizzie loves a good belly rub and being outside keeping an eye on the squirrels and sun bathing. They're the perfect companions for a walk in the neighborhood or curling up on the couch to watch tv. Rizzie and August are 10 year old girls that were sadly surrendered to the shelter by their mom. Due to her own health she could no longer care for her girls and wants to find them another loving home. Rizzie is the brindled boxer hound mix and August is the tan beagle mix. They are doing great in foster care and enjoying meeting all the resident dogs and cat. Very sweet and laid back girls. Both are house trained, spayed and up to date on all their shots. August has already picked out a few favorite toys and Rizzie has found her a spot on the couch. They would love to be adopted together. He was an outside dog but potty training has not been an issue. He's learning good rules, like sharing, staying down, sit and crate training. He even waits to hear his name to get treats with his brothers and sisters. This boy is so happy to be loved, his tail never stops wagging...even when he takes your shoe, hides it and gets reprimanded for it. It is my belief Saban would be a great fit in another environment. When we are home, he loves to stay outside with the ability to safely entertain himself. Only thing, he is scared to death to be left outside at night." We arent sure if Saban's issues are strictly with his companion or with other dogs in general. We recommend setting up a meet and greet if an adopter has other dogs and is considering Saban. Probably the safest bet is simply to choose a home with no other dogs. This dogs adoption fee is $175 which covers the following: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, dhp/p, rabies, bordatella (agre appropriate vaccines), deworming, and all the care he received while with CVRR. Our first step is an application which can be filled out atwww.cvrrescue.org

Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Our first step is an application which can be filled out at www.cvrrescue.org Atticus came to our care in September 2016. He was a stray that we pulled from the shelter. In foster care he is a great big teddy bear who loves attention and belly rubs. He makes doggie friends quickly and has done fine with kitties except they don’t always appreciate his sloppy kisses. He is very muscular and when on leash is very excited to meet people. He needs a firm hand and some training for this but seems eager to please and should learn quickly. He has greatly astonished his foster parents with how gentle he is towards others. Fill out an application and come see this sweet and gentle bear, Atticus, because he wants to see you! The adoption fee for this dog is $175.00 which helps to cover a portion of the care provided, including: spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, age appropriate vaccinations: DHLP/P, Bordetella, Rabies, deworming, and any medical care received while with CVRR.
