Posted Breed: Cockapoo / Mixed. APPLICATIONS PENDING! ....Hi Everyone - I am Coco, a distinguished looking cockapoo with beautiful lighter brown soulful eyes! I am told it is difficult to resist them when I look so longingly up at my fosters (it even gets me extra treats sometimes!). I have had a rough last few months, you see, my elderly owner of 6 years passed away and her children took me in which seemed like a good thing at first. However, they made me an outside dog with their 2 large dogs and I was never used to living outside and did not make out to well there so they turned me into the shelter. I was terrified and afraid and the longer I was there I got even more afraid and got an ear infection so got a little snappy with the staff. Lucky for me the staff realized I was just scared and they called the nice people at CAP who came and took me to a foster home where I am living now! I did a 180 after 24 hours with them and have really come a long way in trusting them already! I get along well with other dogs, love people in general, I like some toys, am house trained, and have a really soft coat. Once I get to know you I am told my kisses are sweet and I like to cuddle! I really like belly rubs and like to have my humans in sight when they are home. I am not sure if I like cats, and my fosters were told I like kids, but it might take a little for me to warm up if they are little....I am not sure yet. I am neutered and up to date on vaccinations and like to lay on the sofa or a lap when I can. Everyone that meets me says I have a gorgeous coat as the colors are mixed and unique....just like me I guess. I am told I am very sweet and will make someone a great companion, could it be you? I would like to find my furever home and settle in for a long life with a new family I can call my own forever! Just complete an application at www.cockersacrosspa.org under the adopt tab and we can be together soon! FOSTER UPDATE Coco has really bonded with his foster dad and will run and make a flying leap from the floor to get to his lap for attention. He loves when his dad gives him attention and belly rubs. He loves to go for walks with his dad, although when he sees the leash he thinks it is time to roll over for belly rubs. However Coco doesn't trust easily and can be standoffish with new people. He would do best with a single person who is home most of the time. A fenced in yard for him to go out and come back inside on his own initially would be essential. He will be a wonderful companion for the right person who is willing to give him the time and space to learn to trust them.
|A.K.A. :||A mongrel, mixed-breed dog|
|Overview:||A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.|

verifiedPosted Breed: Cocker Spaniel. YO! How you doin... my name is Rocky I am a 10 year old Cocker Spaniel. I enjoy going on walks, eating, and sleeping. I play occasionally with squeaky toys when I'm feeling especially energetic. I have a black and white coat, with the cutest bit of buff coloring on my eyebrows. I get along wonderfully with my foster siblings (one large dog, two other cocker spaniels, and a cat), I don't pay any attention to squirrels, rabbits, or birds, so there should be no problems fitting in with whatever pets you may already have. I also get along well with all sorts of people no matter how big or small (although if a smaller child has anything tasty in their hands and not looking, I've been known to help myself to it). I am a true and loyal companion, I love hanging out where ever you are. I love going for car rides, and have perfect leash behavior, so walks with me are a breeze. My mom really loved and cared for me my whole life, but she got sick and just couldn't take care of me any longer, but she did the right thing and sent me to live with my foster parents and now I'm looking forward to finding a new forever family. I'm generally quiet, my foster mom and dad have not heard me bark unless it's for a treat. I am healthy and happy. If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application and let them know you are interested in ROCKY. More about Rocky from his foster parents: He is excellent with other dogs and cats, leash and house trained, even tempered, affectionate, good in the car. Good with adults and children. Quiet.

verifiedPosted Breed: Cocker Spaniel. Buddy is a fun loving guy. He will keep you entertained with his antics. He gets along great with other dogs and loves snuggling! He has learned to love rides in car and going places.. Just try and hold him back! He is learning to accept company in his house. He will bark at guests but has really been better with practice. Buddy's only down side is that he is not good with kids 10 and under. He barks at them and if they try to pursue him he gets annoyed and will show signs of wanting to snap at them. Especially high energy fast moving children. He was cooped up for most of his first few years and just didn't have exposure with children. He's big and strong and can knock them down. Despite this flaw he has a super personality and is just waiting for furever love!!

verifiedPosted Breed: Cocker Spaniel (medium coat). Hello everyone, my name is Frankie. I am a 13 year young Cocker Spaniel with lots of energy that really makes me seem a lot younger. I like to walk, eat, play, eat, sleep, did I say eat... I am a good lap dog and would like to watch TV or just hang out. I am buff color but depends on how the sun is shining on me you can see some red in my legs. I might have been more reddish before the gray set in. My foster brothers, also Cocker Spaniels, and I get along and I get along with my foster's granddaughter and niece who are under the age of five. So I am good with kids and dogs, not sure what a cat is but I bet we would get along just fine too. Check the website, www.cockersacrosspa.org for more information and to fill out an application to give me a furever home with you.
