Posted Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption fee is $150, this dog is approx. 2.5 - 3 yrs old and is about 65 pounds *Good with other dogs (better with males) *Has basic manners *Totally kick ass looking eyes. Hi my name is Karlee I am a fun loving girl that loves the wadding pool, getting attention and YOU, I love YOU. I have not met many strangers I mean some of you humans are stranger then others but as long as you pet me I am all good. I get along well with the other dogs here at the rescue, but sometimes I am not the best fit with other bossy female dogs, some of them are just B**ches if you know what I mean . I was found roaming the streets and my owners didn't find me and I landed at this rescue place, I thought I was just going to hang for a bit and someone would come and snatch up my awesome face, but nope still here waiting on you to come and adopt me, what is taking you so long? . It's unknown if I had poor fences or just good husky skills, they have things kinda on lock down here at the rescue... but I have to admit I have given them the slip before also so my husky skills are pretty slick. So not leaving me outside unsupervised and a secure yard is a must, a electric hot wire would make it so I could hang outside and not be as prone to escape I am trained to one here at the rescue so it's a easy adjustment. I don't mind my kennel but have not had to be in one long.. Also I have put on a few pounds eating my sadness about not having a family of my own and could use a new friend to take me jogging or hiking.. Do you want to be my new buddy? I have been waiting awhile for someone to love me.. _________________________________ All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines after you send your application. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky you need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system(cost approx $100) this is quite often needed to preventing digging climbing or chewing through fences. A Hot wire is typically the best route to start with for a piece of mind. Some of our dogs we will require this prior to adoption due to known escape habits or the type of fencing you have. Installation is simple and can be done in under 2 hours on most yards. Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but are also a challenge and demanding and can be very destructive and hard to contain when there needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our home page. Also we likely have other Huskies or Malamutes for adoption find out by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org. The adoption fee is $150. This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance . Siberian Husky

A.K.A. : Chukcha, Chuksha
Overview: The Siberian Husky is very similar in looks to the Alaskan Malamute, yet somewhat smaller in build and not quite as bold. Still, he needs a strong-willed owner who will stay in control. This dog loves to roam and explore, so he needs a nice big yard.
Breed Group: Working
Weight (lbs): male: 45-60, female: 35-50
Height (in): male: 21-23.5, female: 20-22
Colors: All colors from black to pure white.
Coat: Coat is double-layered and medium-length. The guard hairs of the outer coat are straight and somewhat smooth lying. The undercoat is soft and dense and of sufficient length.
Character: Siberian Huskies are not particularly good watch dogs, because they want to befriend everyone they meet. They love to roam and are full of energy and independence.
Temperament: This breed gets along well with other Huskies, but they need to be trained carefully if they're to be kept with other household pets. They will not get along with cats or other small animals, though they do well with children.
Care: Its coat needs brushing one or two times a week, daily during periods of heaviest shedding.
Training: This breed is very intelligent and independent. Handlers should take this into consideration and use patience and understanding during training.
Activity: The Siberian Husky needs to be involved in physical activities and requires a well-fenced yard. If they are not kept active, they can be very destructive and noisy.
Country of Origin: Russia
Health Issue: This breed is relatively healthy, but some have heart disease and eye problems, along with dermatitis.
Life Expectancy: 11-13

More About Siberian Husky Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Adoption fee is $100, this dog is approx. 4 yrs old and is about 45 pounds My name is Akira and My momma is Cora, and I am sweet and loving Husky/Shepherd mix. I love to be rubbed on my belly. I’ve been told that I have no control over my licker, I just know that I love to lick people J. I have a really scary bark, but would never hurt anyone intentionally. I love to run and enjoy going on walks. I like the taste of dirt. I love children and adults, as long as they treat me well. I do not like smaller animals, such as squirrels, cats, small dogs, opossums, rabbits, I will chase them. I howl every time I hear sirens. I really like treats too, so, when I am told to sit, I will sit on command. I love to play ball, but I get bored after running to catch the ball after a while. Toffee $50

      rescue
      Breed: Italian Greyhound-Unknown Mix
      Sex: Male Male
      Age: Adult
      Location: Edmond, OK
Posted Breed: Spaniel / Italian Greyhound / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption fee is $50, this dog is approx. 5 yrs old and 13-15 pounds. Toffee is a sweet fun dog, and very cute to boot. He prefers dogs of a similar size or to be a only dog, he gets frightened by larger dogs. He is always happy to greet you and dances on his hind legs. He enjoys when new people shower him in attention. He can be shy and standoffish with some but not all men. He loves older kids to but he gets nervous and scared with the kids that like to chase dogs and play with them rough as the younger ones tend to do and he will bit at them. He likes to go for walks and will dance while you are getting the leash. He is pretty much housebroken but takes a bit of time to adjust in a new space. He knows how to sit and shake and a few other things like dancing in a circle. He is cute as can be and would love to find a family. That's most of the good things about this really cute dog.. now for known bad habits we have seen, which is really just one thing that is common among spoiled small dogs and it has been pretty much diminished with the training and one on one time spent with him to eliminate this behavior. Toffee is a sweet dog and is most of the time when things are going his way .. It seems he had been spoiled little brat in his previous home and learned to use his mouth when things didn't go his way, but this isn't why he lost his home, his previous owner was a elderly lady that was no longer able to care for him. We have corrected the majority of this behavior, but he will need continued training going into a new home so he don't go back to his old ways. He will have to be treated like a dog with rules boundaries and limitations. If you can handle telling a dog to sit before he is fed, and other simple things and not treat him like a king on his throne all will go well. Examples of when he has sometimes acted out is like if he is being put into his crate and he didn't want to.(which he likes his crate) During getting towel dryed off after a bath something must of spooked him or the towel rubbing was to rough and a snarl for being moved off the couch. The adoption fee is $50.This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance . Foster mom says us huskies can be hard to deal with and are crafty at escaping yards and some people just give up on us. So I need a new people who will keep me and love me and exercise me and will do everything possible to keep me in a yard. I would make a awesome running buddy for you, I promise I can outrun you. I love to romp and play and wrestle rough with the other dogs here at the rescue. I would like a doggie play buddy in my new home and one that can handle rowdy play. Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Adoption fee is $100, this dog is approx. 1.5-2 yrs old and is about 62 pounds Hi my name is Pearl lets go play. I am a energetic girl, I have the build of a German Shepherd and the deep alert bark but the stunning blue eyes of the husky. I also acquired the stealth escape skills of the husky breed so I need a secure yard. I tend to get a little sassy with other female dogs so I will do better in a home without any female dogs so things don't get .... shall I say "female doggish" around the house. I am also crate trained and do better left in a crate when you are away but if you don't mind some decorating while your away I could be out of the crate. If you want to leave me in the yard when you leave you should install a electrical hot wire it's about a $75 expense and will keep me put, if your yard is very secure I might stay in it also. You see when you are gone I think you are missing and I noticed you don't keep you tags on so I think I need to go find you, don't want you getting hit by a car or anything. Oh and the family that had found me also had cats I thought those things where so fascinating... according to my caretakers I find them so to fascinating. So squeaky play toy sized animals are not my thing to properly co-exist around. I am house trained when I am home with you and use to my crate when you are away. I would love to find a running partner I know I can out run you, I will help push to to go faster and run further. Now that I am here at the rescue I hang out in the big dog play yard, we hang out and play all day with the other dogs. So do you think you can be MINE? I promise to keep you safe and sound and warm at night... I will give you little fur bunnies from time to time as a gift during my shedding times. Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / Husky / Mixed (short coat). 3 1/2 yr old, Female Short haired Husky Mix, est 55lsb, $50 to adopt This is a really sweet active girl, though she is short haired, she acts all husky, so that makes for all the husky without all the hair that is a win win for a husky lover. She would make a great running partner and she gets along with other dogs that she has been around at the rescue, for a long term companion a similar sized Male dog would be ideal, she likes to play rough and may over whelm a smaller dog and is a bit of a bossy girl with the other female dogs here. She is true to the breed and needs a secure yard typically with a hot wire installed to contain her. Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). This dog is a Courtesy post for Heartland Husky Rescue of OK. The Adoption process and animals are not affiliated with Pet Angels Rescue. Please Read the info in this posting for info on how to adopt. Contact Heartland Husky Rescue directly with the info provided in this dogs posting. Links and Adoption Inquires need to be addressed directly to them through their web page or email. Adoption fee is a donation to the rescue to help her cost or care, this dog is approx. 11 yrs old and is about 55 pounds Lenora is looking so great. She loves to swim in her pool (even in the cold). She will be spayed soon and then will be looking for her forever home. Her IDEAL home would have no small children and be someone with enough time to train her. She lived on a chain and didn't have a lot of interaction with people or other animals. She would like to be the only dog. Not a huge fan of cats. Crate trained. Hasn't had an accident in the house yet . At 11 years old this beauty still has A LOT of love to give to the right person. Her fee is negotiable to the BEST home. Secure yard is a MUST. as you can see she has to be on a tie out because she can get over a privacy fence. This is not a dog you can get and just stick in the back yard. She deserves more and we are going to make sure she gets it All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit for us to check out the fence and give tips on containment if needed.
