COOPER A LOYAL COMPANION

Description

Cooper is a 19-week-old, full-blooded Blue Texas Lacey, a breed known for intelligence and natural tracking and hunting abilities. Born and currently in North Alabama, Cooper is fully vaccinated, not fixed, and ready to find his forever home. His parents were working tracking and hunting dogs, though he has not been trained for that with us. We adopted him from a family member but are now seeking the best permanent home for him. This energetic pup thrives with a job to do and loves being active. Whether it is playing fetch, going for a run, or engaging in mental challenges, Cooper responds well to positive and structured training. He is very smart, learns quickly, and needs gentle guidance. He shuts down if faced with harsh tones or frustration, so patience and encouragement work best for him. Cooper is mostly housebroken after three weeks with us, rides well in the car, and sheds very little, making him a clean and easy companion. He even hops into the shower willingly when it is time for a bath with no fuss! When not active, he enjoys chewing on bones or rubber toys to stay busy. Cooper has not done well with small children, as he sometimes gets jealous or overly playful. He would thrive in a home with adults or older kids (10 years or older) who can understand his needs and provide the structure, love, and activity he craves. We have a 4-year-old, and while Cooper often greets kisses with licking, he sometimes plays too rough, using his teeth a bit hard and jumping with over excitement. This is not his fault, but our little one doesn't know how to respond with the puppy excitement. With obedience training, we believe this behavior can improve. Cooper is a loyal, sensitive dog with so much potential. He will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give him the attention and training he needs to grow through his puppy stages.
