Description
Meet Lilly, a beautiful AKC-registered Wirehaired Dutch Shepherd! This sweet girl is looking for a loving home where her gentle, affectionate personality can bring joy and laughter every day. Lilly has a playful, clownish side — she’s full of energy and fun, and she’ll keep you smiling until the end of the day. She’s also a wonderful companion, always ready to be by your side. Lilly was part of my breeding program, but she has never been bred and is intact. I would love to find her a caring pet family who will truly appreciate this rare and special breed. If you’re interested in including her in a breeding program, her full AKC registration can be released for an additional fee. She knows her basic commands, has an incredible food drive, and is very easy to train. Preference will be given to a loving pet home. You can also schedule a FaceTime call to meet Lilly and see her personality firsthand.

Breed overview
Dutch Shepherd Dog
A.K.A.: Dutch Herder, Hollandse Herder, Hollandse Shepherd, Herder, Dutchie
Overview:
The Dutch Shepherd Dog, originating in the Netherlands during the late 19th century, was primarily bred as a versatile farm dog for herding sheep and guarding property. They are a medium-sized breed, typically weighing between 50-70 pounds, with a distinct and handsome appearance characterized by their "brindle" patterned coats, which can be short, long, or rough-haired. Known for their intelligence, trainability, and loyalty, Dutch Shepherds possess a strong work ethic and require regular mental and physical stimulation. While excellent family companions for active households, their high energy levels and need for space make them generally unsuitable for apartment living unless their exercise needs are rigorously met. They are generally a robust and healthy breed with a lifespan of 11-14 years, though some individuals may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as eye conditions like progressive retinal atrophy. Their protective instincts, combined with their eager-to-please nature, make them exceptional working dogs and devoted family members for experienced owners.
