Description
Hailey Rose was born 8/30/20 & I purchased her at 10 weeks old, with breeding privileges for $3500. I’m only asking $800.00 for her rehoming fee & have invested many thousands of dollars in her healthcare! She’s a 5 lb 2 oz, AKC registered traditional Yorkshire Terrier with a soft, gorgeous, blue/silver & tan coat, a docked tail & had her dewclaws removed! After turning 2 y/o, she had several litters (the last one arrived 11/18/24) & she was an excellent mother! She was spayed on 2/10/25, her teeth were last cleaned on 3/10/25 & she’s current on all vaccines. She’s paper trained, but while in heat would often mark (which is very normal for intact dogs!) I used diapers for that & she’s very comfortable in them if you chose that route rather than using potty pads. She’s wonderful with humans of all sizes, but should be the only dog since she has a desire to be the leader of the pack. She is so really sweet & lovable, but after she was spayed, the sudden drop in hormones caused her to temporarily, lose her mind & out of the blue, she attacked Toby, the other Yorkie she grew up with, quite aggressively! It seemed to be very Fear based since she became very nervous/anxious, & tremulous moments beforehand. It made no sense since she grew up & was bred with him & he’s always so sweet & easy going! She might not challenge a large size dog for the alpha role, but it’s hard to say since Yorkies are known for believing they are larger than life!! They’ve been kept separate for their protection, but it seems to be ingraining the notion that they can’t be in the same space, more deeply! On the brighter side, she loves playing tug-of-war & fetch. If you’ll toss her toy she loves bring it back & wrestle for it! She’d enjoy a daily walk, but I’m unable to do it due to my declining health. I have no hope of recovery, she desperately needs a forever family who can commit to provide the love & care she’s so deserving of!! Releasing her is tearing my heart out, but must be done!

Overview:
The Yorkshire Terrier, affectionately known as a "Yorkie," is a popular small dog breed originating from 19th-century Yorkshire, England, where they were initially used to catch rats in clothing mills. Despite their diminutive size, typically weighing between 4 to 7 pounds, they possess a big personality. Key physical characteristics include a compact body, a small head, and their most distinctive feature: a long, silky, straight coat that is a striking steel blue on the body and tail, and a rich golden tan on the head and chest. Temperamentally, Yorkies are known for being spunky, intelligent, and confident, often displaying a surprisingly bold nature. They are generally adaptable and can thrive in various living situations, making them well-suited for apartment living due to their small stature and moderate exercise needs. With proper socialization, they can be wonderful companions for families, though their delicate size means they are better suited to homes with older, more considerate children. Regarding health, like many small breeds, they can be predisposed to certain conditions such as patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of regular veterinary care and a balanced diet.
