Description
Our non breeding pair of purebred Great Danes managed to sneak one in on the tail end of the females last heat cycle; just before the optimal time for getting the male neutered. Resulted in 2 pups, one of which were going to keep, the other which we’d like to see go to a great home. Both parents are AKC registered but their offspring are not able to be registered, which is normal when the parents are listed as “limited” with the AKC. Parental pedigrees in pictures. There was no intent to have a litter, but life finds a way. Both parents are black with white markings. The pup we’re rehoming is a black male with white markings, very close to dad’s look. Will be 8 weeks old on 3/9, deworming and initial vaccines will be up to date as of the 8 week mark. He’s very active and always happy, wagging his tail and interacting with everything. Our preference is to rehome to a family with past or current Great Dane ownership, as it’s not for everyone. Mom is 150 pounds, dad is close to 175. Frequent zoomies when they’re younger, which results in a lot of mass in motion. They require large amounts of large/giant breed specific food, so that they grow properly. Diamond Naturals is what all of our Danes have always used and it has worked well for us. We typically use their puppy variant until one year and then go to their adult formula. $55 for 40 pounds from Chewy for the puppy variant, $45 for the adult version. Males will start around 3 cups a day and go all the way up to 10-12 (sometimes more!) as they get older. Have had 5 now, can answer any questions before adoption. Price is not negotiable, purebreds go for $2000 per puppy now and the only difference being you can register with AKC and get a nice plaque to hang on the wall. Will require information about your house size, backyard size, other pets, and who will be responsible for caring for him. They’re not a breed that can be left alone for the entirety of the work day in a crate, or even free to roam when young.
Items Included: Will be dewormed and vaccinated up to current due by age before sale. Will include blanket with mom and brothers scent and some of current food to get started or blend to new option.

Breed overview
Great Dane
A.K.A.: German Mastiff, Deutsche Dogge, Dänische Dogge, Tigerdogge, Ulmer Dogge, Englische Dogge, Grand Danois, Dogue Allemand, Great German Dog, Apollo of Dogs, King of Hounds, Gentle Giant, Dane
Overview:
The Great Dane is an impressive and regal breed, often dubbed the "Apollo of Dogs" for its dignified stature and noble appearance. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence. Physically, Great Danes are characterized by their tall, muscular build, short coat (available in various colors like fawn, brindle, black, blue, and harlequin), and expressive eyes. Despite their formidable size, they possess a surprisingly gentle and affectionate temperament, making them wonderful family companions. They are known for being patient with children and generally get along well with other pets. While their size might suggest otherwise, Great Danes can adapt to apartment living if provided with sufficient daily exercise, as they are not overly energetic indoors. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to bloat (gastric dilatation-volvulus), hip dysplasia, and certain heart conditions, necessitating careful breeding and regular veterinary check-ups. Overall, a Great Dane offers a loving and loyal addition to the right home.
