Description
Hello! Meet Koda, a 7 month old husky. Koda is such a loving and sweet boy! He is playful, friendly and loves to be outdoors. Due to our busy changing schedules (military) we are not able to be around and provide for him the stability he needs. I do not want him being put in a dog hotel while we are gone, so as much as this isn't fun, I know he would do great going to a home that can care for him forever. Once you meet Koda you will fall in love. He is a beautiful husky with a unique coat. ¡Hola!

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
