Originating as part of the designer dog movement, this mix is about 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever, giving it a more predictable coat that is typically curly or wavy, low-shedding, and allergy-friendly. Medium to large in size, they are athletic yet gentle, making them excellent companions for families with children. Their temperament is friendly, loyal, and highly trainable, thanks to strong Poodle genetics, and they thrive in homes where they receive daily exercise and mental stimulation. While they adapt well to suburban or rural living, apartment life is possible with sufficient activity. Common health considerations include hip dysplasia, eye conditions, and skin sensitivities, but with responsible breeding and preventive care, they typically enjoy a lifespan of 12–15 years.
