Breed overview
Overview:
The Havapoo, a delightful crossbreed, is the endearing result of pairing a Havanese with a Toy Poodle. Originating from designer breed popularity, these charming canines typically boast a small stature, weighing between 7-15 pounds, with a curly or wavy, low-shedding coat that comes in a variety of colors, making them a good choice for individuals with mild allergies. Their temperament is generally described as intelligent, affectionate, and playful, inheriting the Poodle's wit and the Havanese's sweet nature. This makes them highly trainable and excellent companions for families, singles, and seniors alike. Their adaptable size and moderate exercise needs mean they thrive equally well in apartment living as they do in homes with yards. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions common in their parent breeds, such as luxating patellas and eye conditions, making responsible breeding and regular vet check-ups crucial for a long, happy life.
