Zephyr delivered 8 blue-eyed carrier AKC puppies (5 boys and 3 girls) on May 13th. They are ready for their fur-ever home July 4th...Just in time to celebrate our country's 250th birthday! We are in puppy bliss ! They favor their dad in coloring but also carry their mom's natural bob-tail gene. When you contact me, I am not going to ask you if you plan to show your dog or enter it in field trials, but whether or not you plan on providing a loving and caring home for the life of the puppy! They are pet priced at $350 (Breeding rights are available at any time for an additional $500) A deposit of $100 holds the puppy of your dreams. They live in our home (as have all our others over the past 25 years)---receiving much love/attention and socializing to touch/handling, human voices, TV, activity, etc. Although these dogs are bred to herd, they also make wonderful companions and loving family members, but PLEASE do your own research/due diligence. References available from past puppy purchasers. You will receive frequent update photos/videos/information. Of course, I'm glad to talk/text with you at any time. Our's is a 'closed' property to prevent the spread of canine pathogens (Parvo lives in the ground for up to 7 years...never had a problem and don't want one !) Local pick-up as of July 4th, at a public store within 40 miles of Sylva (28779) is provided. We WILL NOT ship them by airplane, but I've had great experiences using Dwanetta's Luv' a Pet Transport (336.210.2686)
Items Included: These PRE-SPOILED purebred Aussie puppies will have been vaccinated, dewormed, dew claws removed, tails docked and socialized. They will receive their initial vaccinations (Neo-Par and Neo-Vac) You will be given their AKC form for you to register them. There are several used crates available for purchase--ask me about them :)

Overview:
The Australian Shepherd, despite its name, actually originated in the western United States during the 19th century, bred primarily for herding livestock on ranches. These striking dogs are medium-sized with a sturdy build, often sporting captivating merle coats (blue or red) and piercing blue, amber, or marbled eyes, sometimes with two different colors (heterochromia). Known for their exceptional intelligence and high energy, Aussies possess a strong work drive and thrive on having a "job" to do, whether it's agility, obedience, or extensive exercise. Their temperament is generally loyal, affectionate, and good-natured with their families, though they can be reserved with strangers. Due to their high exercise requirements and need for mental stimulation, they are best suited for active families or individuals with ample outdoor space and a commitment to training; apartment living is generally not ideal. Potential owners should also be aware of common health concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia and certain eye conditions, including Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA).
