'Suzie Poo' is the youngest from our 'Stranger Things' litter born Jan 26th. This little girl has a sleek black tri coat with startling blue eyes. She may be small, but she has big personality and loads of love to give. She is such a cuddle bug and loves to snuggle! We perform ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) exercises with all our puppies from 3 days to 3 weeks old as well as take the time to socialize our puppies with people of all ages from toddlers to seniors and our other dogs. To ensure they keep their sweet and calm demeanor, they are also exposed to several household activities and sounds from vacuums, blenders, TVs, doorbells and more to being carried around the neighborhood to see other people walking their dogs as well as cars and cyclists passing by. Aussies are very intelligent and easy to train, and we strive to make things easier for their new families by starting their potty, crate and recall training -- giving you more time for fun bonding activities! The Australian Shepherd, despite its name, actually originated in the western United States during the 19th century, bred primarily for herding livestock on ranches. These striking dogs are medium-sized with a sturdy build, often sporting captivating merle coats (blue or red) and piercing blue, amber, or marbled eyes, sometimes with two different colors (heterochromia). Known for their exceptional intelligence and high energy, Aussies possess a strong work drive and thrive on having a "job" to do, whether it's agility, obedience, or extensive exercise. Their temperament is generally loyal, affectionate, and good-natured with their families, though they can be reserved with strangers. Due to their high exercise requirements and need for mental stimulation, they are best suited for active families or individuals with ample outdoor space and a commitment to training; apartment living is generally not ideal. Potential owners should also be aware of common health concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia and certain eye conditions, including Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA).
