Parents info

Father

Father of the Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies born on 05/07/2026
The pappa "Bear" is a black tri-color Miniature Australian Shepherd who's been part of our family since he was 8 weeks old. Registered with NAPR he has been kept up to date on all his shots and flea/tick treatments. He is very active with a high energy drive and loves to have tasks to do. He loves the sunny outdoors but hates bad weather, he looks so proud running around in his "tuxedo" fur.

Mother

Mother of the Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies born on 05/07/2026
The momma, "Fawn" is a red merle who we've had since she was a pup as well, though she's got a year or so on her "Bear". This just helps her keep him in line is all, she's a sweet little ball of nervous energy, curious and cautious at the same time but put's her pack mates in their place if they misbehave. Fawn and Bear also have their oldest son, Haggard and two older unrelated pack sisters Amber and Pearl that they live with in our living room, she is the only momma of the group.

Overview:

The Miniature Australian Shepherd, often affectionately called a "Mini Aussie," is a highly intelligent and energetic breed originating from the American West, though its ancestors were indeed Australian herding dogs. Physically, they are a smaller version of the standard Australian Shepherd, sporting a beautiful double coat that comes in various striking colors and patterns, including merle, black, and red, often with white and copper markings. Their bright, expressive eyes are a hallmark feature. Temperamentally, they are known for being exceptionally loyal, eager to please, and highly trainable, making them excel in dog sports like agility and obedience. While generally good with children and other pets when properly socialized, their herding instincts can sometimes manifest in nipping or "herding" behaviors. Due to their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation, they are best suited for active families who can provide ample exercise and training; apartment living is generally not ideal unless the owners are committed to daily vigorous activity. Health-wise, they are generally robust, but potential concerns include certain eye conditions (like Collie Eye Anomaly) and hip or elbow dysplasia, making responsible breeding practices crucial.
