Beneath their thick, weather-resistant double coat lies a surprisingly sturdy frame, allowing for bursts of speed and agility. In terms of temperament, Corgis are generally intelligent, playful, and affectionate, making them wonderful companions. While devoted to their families, their herding instincts can sometimes manifest as a playful "nipping" at heels, which can be managed with training.
