    VA/Dooley

    rescue
    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Dooley is a 5-7 year-old orange and white male Brittany who was surrendered when his elderly owner was no longer able to care for him. He spent most of his life in an outdoor pen, but has adjusted quickly to being an indoor dog. He is housebroken and has learned to tell his foster mom and dad when he needs to go outside. Dooley is extremely laid-back and gentle. He just wants to be within sight of you. He loves pets, scratches, hugs, and kisses. He is very interested in food, but is not at all food aggressive. He will sit on command for a treat, and takes treats very gently from your hand. He gets along well with his older Brittany foster sister. He’s not really sure how to play with her, but she keeps trying and I believe it’ll only be a matter of time. He is very curious about other dogs and people. He loves saying hello to everyone he meets. We are unsure how he will do around children or cats, but will continue exposing him to new situations. He would probably do best in a home without anyone unsteady on their feet because he likes to walk in front of you, watching over his shoulder (instead of looking where he’s going) and tends to crash into things and/or come to a dead stop while you’re walking behind him. He will dart between his human’s legs on occasion, change directions unexpectedly, and regularly bumps into/jostles his foster sister and humans. He enjoys going for walks around town, but he does pull quite hard on a leash and wander side-to-side, sniffing. His leash manners seem to get better every day and should continue to improve with patience (from both his human and canine walking partners) and practice. He would do well with other dogs, but could probably do fine as an only dog as long as people are around all of the time. In a decent-sized yard that gives him a little room to explore, and someone to explore with, he may not even require daily walks. What is most important to Dooley is having company. Even the biggest yard will not hold his attention for long if there is no human or other dog along. Dooley does not bark much. He will bark to let you know he wants to get through a door and will vocalize a bit if it’s mealtime and you’re a bit slow preparing the food. He has already learned to sit before his bowl is placed on the floor in front of him. He gobbles his food quickly, is not a fussy eater or at all food aggressive, and even respects his foster sister’s food dish until she walks away. He does not dig or seem at all interested in getting through the four-foot picket fence in our small yard. He does not seem to require a lot of activity and is perfectly happy lounging around all day as long as there a person close by. He goes to bed willingly at night, sleeps well on a doggie bed, and will sleep as late as you let him or until he needs to go out (he will wine gently to wake you if he needs out). He does not get on the furniture and only tries when scared by a noise. Many things are new to Dooley, like lawn mowers, leaf blowers, vacuum cleaners, food processors, hair dryers, and humans using electric toothbrushes. He gets scared, but is easily reassured and recovers quickly. He does not like baths, but succumbed with gentle restraint. His look of astonishment is priceless. It took him a few days to master the scary, tall, open hardwood stairs at our house, but he is fine on regular stairs with carpet and after about a week was even going up and down the scary steps like an old pro. Dooley is about as easy going as Brittanys come! He will make a great companion or family dog. Dooley is located in north-central Virginia and his adoption fee is $350.00. He can be transported up to 1,400 miles via our Canine Railroad. For more information, please contact Leslie Trenta leslieleslietrentadesigns

Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Lucy is a 4 year old tri-color girl who was owner surrendered with her pal Arlo. She is an energetic girl who is good with other dogs and kids. Cats are not her favorite. Lucy loves to hunt birds and squirrels and may even bring one to you as a "present" now and then! She is very sweet and loving and likes going for walks with her gentle leader on. She enjoys running in the yard with kids, playing fetch and chewing on toys. She is crate trained and knows basic commands. Lucy will need a backyard with a non-climbable 6 ft fence. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW neg. and microchipped. Lucy is being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption fee is $375.00. She can be transported up to 1,400 miles with the adopter taking the last 1-1/2 hours of transport. Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Meet Arlo! He is a 4 yr old orange roan male Brittany who was an owner surrender with his pal Lucy. Arlo is a very active boy and requires a non-climbable 6 ft fence to keep him secure. He is well adjusted and socialized and knows some basic commands. He enjoys playing fetch, going for walks, cuddling , playing with children and getting into mischief. But hey, he's a typical young Brittany! So what's not love about that? He is not good with cats and has a high prey drive, so don't be surprised if he brings you birds or squirrels etc as "presents"! Arlo likes to pull hard on a leash so a harness or gentle leader and some training will help him learn to walk better on leash. Arlo is crate trained and loves his blanket. He thinks fluffy dog beds are toys and really enjoys tearing the stuffing out of them! He is fearful of thunder and heavy rain but finds comfort in his crate. Arlo is being fostered in Tennessee and can be transported up to 1,400 miles via our Canine Railroad with the adopter taking the last leg, usually 1-1/2 hours. Arlo's adoption fee is $375.00. Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Hello everyone, Dave here. I am a 2 1/2 year old sweet boy that needs lots of attention and a sibling to keep me company and play with. I have great manners and walk great on a leash, but I do like to counter surf for my own hand picked treats. My foster mom tells me I am a good boy and housebroken. I can be a little timid so I do not do well with children under the age of 10 because they scare me and I will growl. I adjust well to any other dogs and love to play as I miss my brother who passed away. My foster brothers are keeping entertained for now until my forever home comes along. Due to my energy level, I will not do well in a condo or apartment and need a fenced yard (6 ft) to play in. I am neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated. My adoption fee is 375.00. If interested, please go to .NBRAN and complete an application. We will transport up to 1400 miles.

    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Male Male

Posted Breed: Brittany. Ethan quickly wrapped both his foster mom and foster dad around his paw! He is a spunky little guy who is impossible not to smile at when he prances towards you. Ethan is full of energy, and LOVES to play with his foster sister (10 month old American Bulldog mix). He more than holds his own with her. Ethan would do well in a house with another dog to keep him busy an entertained. Ethan is able to climb stairs, and go down stairs. He sleeps in a crate all night, and spends a few hours a day in a crate while his fosters are at work. He is working hard at potty training. He can go all night, but doesn't always. He reliably pees outside, but is working on no poo accidents. Ehtan knows the command "sit", and is working on stay. Ethan LOVES to play, and would do best in a house with another playful dog.

    TN/Ginger

    rescue
    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Ginger is a little stray that wandered up to someone's house. She is estimated to be about 9 mo old. The lady contacted NBRAN to help with this underweight little girl who had just killed a chicken. An NBRAN foster went to get her and found her with a skin condition , underweight and a big sore on her neck. She immediately took her to a vet. She was fecal negative but had sarcoptic mange which she was given a shot and some medicine for. She was boarded at another vet and received treatment for her mange. She did not have a microchip and owner was not found.. Foster home notes: Ginger has flourished in the few weeks since she was rescued and is now in a foster home in West TN. Ginger is a typical Brittany puppy who has tons of energy and natural curiosity. She has become great friends with the other dogs at her foster home and especially likes to run and tussle with the two year old lab. She has quickly learned her name, and when not in play mode, is very happy to lay in a lap and watch TV. She is learning to walk on a leash and so far knows "sit", stay down and off not so much. She is totally housebroken and sleeps quietly in a crate all night long and when in time out after a particularly tiring playtime. So far she is not a barker but will pester you with her nose when she wants to get your attention.. She would love to have a forever home with another dog to play with and definitely requires a fenced yard because she gets the zoomies. Kids to play with would make her happy . She hasn't been tested with cats, but absolutely no chickens. She might be interested in hunting some birds but she hasn't had that experience yet..She recently went to a festival where they had old tractors and steam engines that backfired and did not seem to be afraid of loud noises. She was more interested in smelling the food and the people who wanted to pet her. Ginger is now a healthy girl who is UTD on vaccines, HW negative, spayed and microchipped.. Her adoption fee is 400.00. Ginger can be transported via the canine railroad up to 1400 miles. For more information contact settertownaol

    CO/Scooter

    rescue
    Breed: Brittany
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Meet Scooter! Scooter doesn’t know he’s 12. He thinks he’s still a young dog when it’s time to go on a walk. Show him his leash and you will get that crazy Brittany dance. He looks forward to a nice walk that allows him to sniff and stroll along. Scooter has a great appetite and needs to lose a few extra pounds. Our vet said his perfect weight would be 48. Because Scooter is slightly over weight, he will need to remain on a high quality, reduced calorie kibble along with his cooked green beans. He takes a daily fish oil capsule as well as cosequin. Scooter’s hearing isn’t quite what it used to be, so he will need the security of a fenced yard to run around in. Scooter can be an only dog and he does not mind when left alone for a few short hours, he will just sleep on his comfy bed. This boy is truly an easy keeper and makes a perfect companion. Scooter is very afraid of slick floors. He requires a home that has carpet or a set up with plenty of rugs/runners. Scooter is healthy (passed a senior blood panel), UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, (on preventative), neutered, and micro chipped. His adoption fee will be $200 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. Scooter is eligible for our wonderful Senior-to-Senior program. If you are a senior, age 60 or over, his adoption fee will be reduced to $100.
