  • Shih Tzu Dog For Adoption in Beloit, WI, USA

    Meg

    rescue
    Breed: Shih Tzu
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shih Tzu (short coat). Adoption Fee: 250.00. Please contact Cynthia for more information about this pet. Meg is being fostered in NY. February 2019 Update Meg is a 10 year old breeding female that was released just over a year ago. She is still looking for her forever home, can you believe it? Meg loves people and other dogs. She would sit on your lap 24/7 if you would let her. She is pretty much potty trained. She will go outside and on potty pads. She has a playful personality that makes her foster mom laugh. If you are looking to add a precious dog to your home, Meg is the one! July 2018 Update Hi Everyone, my name is Meg! I am a 11 year old Shih Tzu that was rescued from a breeding facility. I have been really enjoying life for a year now. The bestest thing that I can have is a forever home? Is that forever home with you? I love people so much. I could sit on your lap and have pets all day long. I used to have a bit of an attitude, but I am not like that now. I love to snuggle with my foster sisters and brothers. A little pup to spend my life with would be wonderful. I need a fenced in yard as I love to explore on my own. I am not a fan of a leash either, so that makes it pretty hard if I do not have a fence. No small children please. Adult children that understand dog's needs would be okay. I am doing pretty good on my potty training. If you think you may be interested in me, please contact A Promise of Love at infoapromiseoflove and the rescue will get right back to you! Nose licks! Meg. February 2018 Hi everyone! Time to touch base with you again. I am doing great! Loving my life now that I no longer have to have babies. I am a dominant little girl. If you get in my way, I will let you know. I would like a friend, but this friend needs to be docile so that if I get a bit punchy, that pup will back down. I am not doing too good with my potty training. It is touch and miss. I am trying very very hard, but for someone that was able to potty in their cage for 10 years, it is going to take time. Please have patience with me. I love people. I love to be petted and will come when called. I need a fenced in yard though. I am not doing too good on a leash. My foster mom is trying to help me with this. I have one bad habit though, I like eating poop. This is very common for puppymill dogs. We get bored and hungry and do what we need to do to pass the time of day. Foster mom is trying very hard to break me of this habit. I would love a forever home. I make a wonderful cuddle buddy. I need a home that is patient and loving. A home that doesn't have any expectations. Please hit that adopt button. My Foster mom would love to talk to you. You won't be sorry. Meg Update: Meg is healing well after her extensive dental and extractions. Meg will be getting her spay on December 22, 2017. The Vet requested a lengthy amount of time for Meg to heal completely from her dental before they spay her. Meg is quite a dominant female and we are hoping she will be less dominant once she is spay. Meg will be ready for adoption on January 1, 2018. Hello everybody! Welcome me, Meg, to A Promise of Love! Today is the beginning of my new life. I am a 17 pound, tan and white, 10 ½ year old Shih Tzu. I am a breeder release, which means I spent my whole life making babies. My foster mom tells me that I do not have to do that anymore. That now it is time for me! I am very excited!! I am a friendly little girl, love to be petted, love other dogs, and love my foster mom and dad. The ONLY thing I do not like is to be picked up. That scares me a lot, and I try very hard to get away. This means that I am probably a flight risk, so I will need a secured fenced in yard if you adopt me. No small children please, as they may scare me. Responsible children over 15 would be okay. I am doing pretty good on the potty thing. But still need some work in that area. I will be available for adoption once I get my teeth cleaned, or pulled, as they are pretty bad, and I have my spay. If you would like to donate to my care, that would be just pawsome. Keep an eye on me as you will be seeing quite a bit of me in the future. Noselicks and Kisses, Meg

    Betty Lou

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Chihuahua
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300.00. When Betty Lou came to us, we knew very little of her past. What we did know was what the shelter workers told us, which was that she was extremely frightened and didn't like to be touched. We were determined to be patient with her though and allow her to come out of her shell in her own time. After coming to our home, she spent 24 hours, huddled in a corner. We would sit with her often, earning her trust and eventually petting her. When she knew she could trust us, she started to walk around and even ask to join the rest of the dogs on the couch! She has now been with us a week and she is san entirely different dog. When she is up on the couch, she comes to me and can't get close enough. She likes massages, belly rubs and gives me gentle kisses when she is happy. Betty Lou gets along with dogs and cats, and loves our girls who are 10 and 13. Because of her unknown past, older, quieter children would be best for her. An experienced Chihuahua owner would be preferable since she has the typical, quirky chi traits. She will need to loose a lot of weight and she sometimes snorts and grunts. She is a snorer also. Betty Lou will be a wonderful dog for someone who wants to take time with her and help her heal from her past. She has so much love to give and just needs to know she is safe. Betty Lou will be available for adoption the first week of March, 2019. She will continue on her weight loss program with grain free food. Adoption donation is $300.00

    Cooper

    Breed: American Eskimo Dog-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: American Eskimo Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 250.00. Update 1-31-2019 Cooper is wondering why no one has inquired about him. He is the most lovable pup, always wanting to be by your side. He loves to play with his human rolling on the floor and playing hide and seek. Cooper is almost potty trained, he will go to the door when he wants to go outside to do his business. He will not poop in the house, he will find his foster mom or daddy, do a little dance to let us know it's time. Cooper loves to sleep in the big bed, and sleeps so soundly in one spot the entire night. He is a dream pup, loves to go on walks and doesn't bark at other animals while walking. He just goes on his merry way and focuses on the sidewalk ahead. He is a great eater, never misses a meal. He is a pure joy to foster. Cooper has a true desire to be loved. His trust issues have vanished and he is a pure joy around people and other pups. He only barks when he is excited while I prepare his meals. Cooper is still lifting his leg, but has started going to the door when he has to do his business. I believe it's just a bad habit and he needs more time to understand that being in a warm loving home doesn't mean he needs to use the home as an indoor potty spot. It's very difficult for a pup this age to be perfect when he has spent his entire life outside. He does have use of a belly band at all times. He always does his poo's outside. Cooper loves his person, needs to be close by at all times. Loves to sit on your lap or close to you touching you. He will dance for his meals and is very exuberant when it comes to treats. Update 5/27/18 I've come a longgg way baby! My hair is finally fluffy and I actually look like a real pup. No More Naked for me. Foster mom brushes me and bathes me so I keep mat free and smelling like a rose. My foster daddy thinks I was an outside dog cause I still have a few problems with lifting my leg in the house. I wear a belly band until I can be trusted to do all my business outside. I love walks, I am perfect on a leash. I don't pull or bark when walking. My temperament is smooth as as silk. I get along well with the other fosters and mind my own business. I am not one to play with toys, I love vegging out with my foster dad and I insist on sleeping with him in the big bed. I would love to find my forever home where it is quiet and I can go for a daily walk then snuggle up on the sofa or chair with my new family. You know what they say, senior dogs ROCK!!! Cooper Update 02/12/2018 Wow, I had my dental yesterday and lost 17 teeth! That hasn't slowed me down one bit. I am still eating like a champ and going outside to do my business. Foster mom will add more pictures of me in the next few days. PS, I still have 5 teeth left, 5 days of eating soft food then I'll be back on my kibble. Intake 02/05/2018 My name is Cooper and I have to be one of the most gentle pups on earth! I was a confiscation case and I was finally released to rescue after spending time at the shelter. When A Promise of Love saw me, they knew that they couldn't resist taking me in under their wings. I am a pretty quiet kind of pup, I only get excited and bark when it's time for a meal. I am a little underweight and need to put on some needed pounds. Foster mom is working on that, feeding me three times a day. Low and slow!!! I have slept a lot since being in a nice warm home and being loved on. I showed my foster parents how skilled I am by coming up the steps backwards! I can go down them easy but I was never taught how to come back up! In time, my siblings will teach me. I am potty trained, UTD on all my vaccinations, heart worm negative and neutered. I will have my much needed dental on the 8th of February.Doctor says I will loose many teeth but it will make me healthier. Not too much is known on my background but that doesn't really matter. I won't look back if you won't. I would love a home that is quiet and maybe have another senior pup for company. I do need a fence in my yard so I don't wander off. Although I am leash trained, I would love to explore your backyard unleashed. As I decompress my foster mom will be adding updates. My adoption fee is $250.00

Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Toy Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 250.00. 1-31-2019 It's almost another year that we have been in foster care. We are so wanting a family of our very own. We are beautiful young ladies that want to meet you! You won't be disappointed, we truly love to be loved on. Foster momma calls Taffy and I creepers, we will sit on her lap and creep up to her face and give her loving kisses. Please fill out an adoption application so we can have a family of our very own. I can be very protective of my daughter Taffy. I am her mommy and I want her to be safe at all times. 12/21/2017 Hello! I can't believe Taffy and I are still in foster care. We are the cutest duo ever and we would love to find our forever home! We are potty trained, we like to voice our opinion when it's dinner time, we love attention and security. We both love to sit on your lap, foster mom calls the both of us "creepers" because once on your lap, we gently belly walk to your face to give you lots of kisses. We are very active and love to be outside. We squirrel watch even when we are in the house! If foster mom hears a high pitched squeal, she knows we have spotted a nutter butter. Pupdate 6-5-2017 Holy Man! Can you believe I have been in foster care almost a full year? Wow, that's a long time! And before I get started telling you all about me, I need to let you know two very important things. #1. I need to be adopted out as a bonded pair with my daughter Taffy. We have been together since her birth and we need to stay together. #2. Taffy and I were raised to hunt squirrels. This is not a laughing matter, we go into a frenzy when we see them. We are so fast, if we are not restrained with a harness and leash or securely fenced back yard, you may never see us again. Ok, glad I got that off my mind. Just want to be straight forward with you. I love to be loved. I give the longest wet kisses of any pup on earth. I will love you every day of my life and I show it in many ways. I am potty trained to do my business outside, I am also paper trained in the house. I love my crate and will gladly go there for my meals or some quiet time. I am a hearty eater and since I've been in foster care my coat has a beautiful sheen to it and has grown a lot. I don't need grooming but I will need a monthly bath to keep me smelling nice and clean. I need more training with my leash. Like I said, if I see one of those critters with the long and fuzzy tails, I am hysterical. Actually Taffy and I sit in front of the sliding glass doors and watch the back yard for hours. Once we see a squirrel, we will screech like there is no tomorrow! Foster mom thought we were really hurt the first time she heard us screech and came running to check on us. Yep, that critter was on the fence tantalizing us. Shame on him! I love sleeping in the big bed with foster momma. I curl up on a pillow next to her. My adoption donation is $250.00 Pupdate 6-17-2016 I have been in foster care for 5 days now, and thank goodness foster mom and dad have discovered that I need to be with my daughter, Taffy in order to be happy. It has been decided that we will be adopted out as a bonded pair so we can live our lives together like it is meant to be. We love all other pups, even big ones and we have no problem playing with the 'big' girls. We sleep in the big bed with foster mom and we are very sound sleepers. I tend Intake June 12, 2016 My name is Tiffin. I am an unusual type of pup called a Coated Xolo. I am very loving and love to give kisses. I am tiny enough to fit in your coat pocket and go with you everywhere! I came from Mexico where my owners took me to the vet to be euthanized. They no longer needed me or my daughter Taffy to be part of their family. A wonderful lady scooped Taffy and I up and took us to her rescue. We have been potty trained, love to go for walks on our leash with our person. We are now at our second foster home looking for our forever families. We would like to stay together, but if that isn't possible, we can find our very own loving forever families. On my way into the USA on the transport, somehow my cornea got scratched. Foster mom took me to the vet first thing this morning so I could have my HW bloodwork checked, my bordatella injection and my eye checked. For the next week I am on special eye drops and internal medications to help me heal faster. I am HW negative, spayed and UTD on all my vaccinations and I am microchipped. I am a beautiful, loving girl that needs a family of my own! PS, Just so you know, I was bred to squirrel hunt, so I need to stay away from them!!!

Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 250.00. Look at me now! My coat has grown long an luxurious and suited for these frigid cold winters in Wisconsin. I love going outside, even in the cold, my little body has acclimated to the deep freezes of the north.Foster mom won't let us stay out long, she keeps her eyes on mom and I and scoots us in as soon as we are finished with our business. I love people of all genders, I love to sit in anyone's lap and creep up to there face to give them gentle kisses. I sleep in the big bed with foster mommy and I generally stay in the same place the entire night. Mom Tiffin and I are looking for a family of our very own. We must be adopted together as we are very bonded. If you have room in your heart and home, would you please put in an adoption application for us? We would love to meet you! Hello! I can't believe mom and I are still in foster care. We are the cutest duo ever and we would love to find our forever home! We are potty trained, we like to voice our opinion when it's dinner time, we love attention and security. We squirrel watch even when we are in the house! If foster mom hears a high pitched squeal, she knows we have spotted a nutter butter! Pupdate 6-5-2017 Okee Dokee, I would like to share with you two very important facts about me. Then I will tell you about my life. #1. I must be adopted out as a bonded pair with my mom Tiffin. We have been together since the day I was born and momma Tiffin always protects me. If you see my mom, you will see me right beside her. #2. We were raised to hunt squirrels. We both go into a frenzy when we see one or more. If we are not properly harnessed and leashed, or in a securely fenced in yard, we will run and you may never see us again. I am doing extremely well in foster care. My mommy takes good care of me and is my protector. We love other pups, but would like to be the only two pups in your home. We both love attention and give the best kisses. I am potty trained to do my business outside and I am also paper trained in the house. Often times I get so excited outside I forget to do my business and will come into the house and head for the puppy papers. I love toys and have not ever destroyed a toy to this day. I am totally crate trained, eat my meals in my crate and will go there for some quiet time. I sleep in the big bed with foster momma at night, and I lay on a pillow with my mom. I have the most amazing eyes. I can almost see right through people and I know I am beautiful. My little legs are a bit longer than momma Tiffins, but we pretty much look alike. I love my momma and I can't go anywhere without her. I do well in the car, but I do need more training on leash. Too much excitement this time of year with all those fuzzy long tailed critters running about. Foster momma has never seen us catch a squirrel so we won't tell her what we do with them once caught. She won't give us the chance! My adoption donation is $250.00. Pupdate 6-17-2016 I have been in my foster home for five days now. Foster mom thinks it would be best if my mom and I are adopted out as a bonded pair. We are pretty much inseparable and I have been with Tiffin (my mommy) all of my life. If mommy can't see me, she starts crying and searching all over. I am so happy that foster mom and dad have discovered this, we will be together always and forever. My name is Taffy and I'm a very small Coated Xolo. My coloring is remarkable, I am a bowl of ice cream sundae for your eyes! A little bit of this and a little bit of that and you get a beautiful girl like me. I have stunning eyes and a beautiful coat. I get along with other pups, but when it's feeding time, I need to be crated to eat because I just might eat someone else's food and I will let everyone know what my intentions are. I came from Mexico where my previous owners wanted me to be euthanized. They didn't want us anymore. My goodness, I'm only two years old and deserve far better than that!A very nice lady came to my mommy's (Tiffin) and my rescue and saved us from sure death. This nice lady brought us all the way to the United States so we have a better chance of being adopted to a loving family. I love other pups as long as I am introduced to them slowly. I was bred to hunt squirrels, so I need to stay on my leash at all times while I'm out for a walk. I do need a fenced in backyard, and it must be secure. I can jump pretty high and I can run fast! I saw my doctor today, I am HW negative, UTD on all of my vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. I am ready for my forever home! I couldn't possibly be any more healthy than I am now. I love people, I love to give kisses and I make the perfect lap pup. It did take me a small minute to warm up to my foster daddy, but we are inseparable now. No small children for me, I am very fine boned and need older children that can respect my small stature. I'm a lion in a small package! Adoption donation $250.00
