    Breed: Sheepadoodle
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Canada
Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Old English Sheepdog / Mixed. Rayne is a gorgeous girl. A true rescue. Afraid of humans. Too scared to eat when we're around. Rayne is timid and she shuts down at even the softest noise or smallest movement. She is a dog who needs us and we're so glad to be here to help. As time passes Rayne has shown us what an incredible girl she is! From terrified to terrific! Sure, Rayne isn't super happy about meeting new people, but if you give her some time to get to know you, she will be your friend for life! Play with her and she'll think she is in heaven! Rayne absolutely adores playing in a safe, securely fenced yard. Running at top speed, spinning, racing back and forth, wrestling. It's all perfect! Once she gets to know you her recall is pretty good as long as there aren't too many distractions. Rayne has shared her foster-home with other resident dogs and cats and has done very well with them. Rayne will not engage with you upon first meeting you. But that's ok, she is worth the work it will take to get her to love you. Here are a few words from Rayne and her foster family. I am the shy quite type, it takes me a bit to warm up to new folks. I prefers country life to city life. I Love long walks at sunrise or sunset while the world is slowing down. I am not a fan of parties or crowded rooms, my ideal night is to cuddle up and watch Netflix. I am an animal lover cats, dogs it does not matter, I have a strong nurturing instinct to groom and clean other animals. I love to wrestle and horse around. I am monogamous, and loyal to my significant other. I do love a great meal, which you can tell by my slightly curvy figure. If you are interested in Rayne. please email us to start the conversation. Please note that in order to meet any of our dogs you will first have to complete an adoption application.

    Josh

    Breed: Poodle (Standard)
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Canada
Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard). Meet Josh, a stunning, black beauty. He just wants to have some time to figure out that the world isn't so scary and there's no need to be afraid. He's learning that life in the city, with it's strange sights and smells, isn't so bad. There's great food, wonderful friends and endless excitement! Josh is such a nervous boy. While he is getting more comfortable with his foster family, he is very wary of strangers and will find the farthest point away, in the yard or in the house, to hide from them. He's just recently come out of the front door of his foster home to view the big world and he finds it scary. Josh will require a family willing to work with a fearful dog. Time, patience, understanding and a deep desire to teach him at his own pace. His new family must have a dog who is calm, friendly, well-rounded, and a securely fenced yard. Unfortunately he cannot live in a home with young children. Now a little more from Josh's foster family: Josh’s Journey Margaret: Hey Josh, I think it’s time we start looking for your forever home. What do you say?Do you want to introduce yourself to everyone? Josh: <stares wide eyed and blankly at Margaret> Margaret: Scary, right? Josh: <stares even more wide eyed at Margaret> Margaret: Okay, why don’t I get you started, why don’t you tell everyone how old you are? Josh: <whispers> 7 Margaret: Is that 7 years Josh? Josh: <whispers> yes Margaret: Is there anything else you would like to tell the people out there? Josh: <whispers> people? people scare me, you know that right Margaret? Margaret: Yes I know people, new things and new environments all scare you, don’t they Josh? Josh: <whispers> yes, I run away from the scary things Margaret: I know buddy, that’s why I have a leash on both your harness and your collar, because I’m concerned if you started running you might not stop. But you are so much braver than you were when you first came to stay with me, aren’t you? Josh: <whispers> yes Margaret: In fact, you come to work with me don’t you? And you say hello to some of my students and even go up to them and take a treat from them sometimes don’t you? Josh: <whispers> yes, I like the puppies in Puppy class. Margaret: That’s right, and the puppies love you. You like being around the puppies and other dogs don’t you? Josh: <whispers> I do, they make me feel more comfortable, but I’m still a little afraid when they have people with them. Margaret: You are still learning how to play aren’t you? Josh: <whispers> yes, but I like it when you and I are in the backyard and you start to play with me. I didn’t really understand before but I’m getting it. Margaret: I know, just the other day when we were outside you started running around, ran up to me and we played with some toys! Josh: <a little louder now> oh yes! I remember the toys. I like those crinkly ones and my elephant and the monkey and sometimes the hollee roller ball but mostly my elephant and ones that squeak… but I do like to take those squeaky things out of the toys… and sometimes I like to chew some of the hard rubber toys too! Margaret: You do like to be outside Josh. Josh: I do like to be outside in the nice weather Margaret, not in the rain. In the nice weather I like to lay down and take in the sounds of the wind and birds in the trees. Josh: Do you remember when I first came to stay with you the sounds of the kids in the schoolyard across the street from you scared me? Margaret: I do remember and now Josh? Josh: Their playing doesn’t scare me anymore when I’m in the backyard. I’m still not comfortable being with them (they still scare me and I want to run away from them) but I can walk past them on the other side of the street now. If you are interested in meeting Josh please email us to start the conversation. We will require you to complete an adoption application prior to meeting any of our dogs. At time of adoption we require you to sign our adoption contract and pay his adoption fee of $450.

    Divo

    rescue
    Breed: Poodle (Standard)
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Canada
Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard). Meet Divo, he is located in Vancouver, BC. Divo settled in well with his foster family and the resident dog. He is such a gorgeous boy and a great dog. He came to us a little on the thin side, so we introduced him to a raw food diet and he is already gaining weight. Divo his high energy, slightly nervous and may have some anxiety. Divo does get excited then seeing other dogs and squirrels / rabbits. So we are working on getting him to focus on us. However, once we introduced him to physical exercise and some mental stimulation games, he is proving to be a wonderful poodle and so willing to learn. Divo requires a home that is willing to work with him to help him become the best dog that he can be. Leash training is required to keep his focus on you. We think Divo would be a great candidate for trailing, agility and rally-obedience. If you are interested in meeting him please email us to start the conversation. Please note that we will require you to complete an application prior to meeting him.

    Victoria

    rescue
    Breed: Poodle (Standard)
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Canada
Posted Breed: Poodle (Standard). Please note that Victoria is being fostered in Courtice, ON and you must be able to travel to meet her in person. We do not transport any of our dogs to their new homes. Please give a big WARM welcome to Victoria. Victoria is a standard poodle puppy who is almost a year old now. SPIN was asked to help this baby because she was born with deformed front legs and will require extensive rehabilitation to allow her to live the best life she so richly deserves. We said, "of course!" . Victoria has proven to be a fantastic dog! She is all poodle and proud to let you know it. She'll bark a good warning when new people arrive....but just give her a minute and you'll meet the most huggable standard poodle ever! Victoria has done really well at therapy and is now able to lift herself off the ground and run. It's not the run of a dog with full legs, but it's faster than you think! She just loves to chase a ball and play a bit of keep away! We love her! Victoria has been fitted for a cart and she is learning to use it but she really, really likes to run without it so the training is going slowly. The one thing Victoria does like about the cart is that she can look you in the eye from her new level! So much fun! It is likely that she will require some therapy for the rest of her life but much of this can be done at home. Unfortunately there is some bad news. Seems that Victoria's kidneys were not formed properly and so she does have kidney disease. It will need to be monitored every three months or so and she must be on a strict diet. Victoria loves to snuggle with you on the couch and in bed and is looking for the perfect family to embrace every bit of energy she has and have fun with her! If you are interested in learning more about Victoria please email us to start the conversation.
