    Breed: Black and Tan Coonhound
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Black and Tan Coonhound (short coat). "JOLENE"--Black & Tan Coonhound 3-5 years Female 51 lbs. **UPDATED: I went for an overnight hunting run with a shelter staff member who used to be an avid Coon Hunter and still runs her dogs as hobby only. This is what she discovered: I was redirected to a raccoon scent through a trap, I did very well and showed much drive. After this, I seemed to remember the difference between cat scent and raccoon (they are very similar in smell) The barn cats didn't seem to attract my attention after that. I probably shouldn't be around them, though, if you do not plan to hunt with me. I was set free on a fenced 40 acres and treed 3 raccoons and 1 mystery critter through the night. The animal could have jumped to a surrounding tree . I do have the will and drive to hunt in me, but will need more scent training so I remember what you want me to do. I was running on my own before I was picked up by ACO and my nose must have got the best of me. Before you set me loose, please practice with me in a fenced area or on a long lead with trapped raccoons placed around the area. For any detailed info, please ask Shelter Staff about me being used to track/hunt again. I am a sweetheart, but staff can tell I was once a hunting dog. I am very active and will need to be walked a lot or have a fenced backyard if you choose to have me as a pet only I'm a nice girl who needs an outdoor home. I don't like to be fenced in kennel. If you leave me in a kennel, I'll grab the metal with my teeth and pull. I need a home without other pets if you don't plan to redirect me. I might be okay with female dogs of my size. Because I was an outdoor dog, I am not potty-trained and would be best placed in a great outdoor home or hunting home.

Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). "LUCY"--Pit Bull Terrier mix 2 years Female 56 lbs. I am a very playful gal who is timid indoors in the shelter kennel. Be sure to take me out of the kennel environment so I can show you my true colors. A nice lady helped me out of a rough situation and got me into the shelter so I could find the home I deserve. I do well with most dogs, but please bring your dog to meet me to be sure.

Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). I'm "KING". I'm a smart boy who is going to need to learn new tricks. I'm looking for a special family that will be with me through my new start in life. I had surgery to remove my right front leg. I'm doing great and am ready to go to my new home. I'm a playful, fun-loving guy that can be a goofball (the staff says that lovingly). I listen really well and walk nicely on leash. I will do best with a routine. Especially right now I need to know what is expected of me and to regain my confidence. Because I'm still recuperating and because I can get mouthy while playing, a home with young children is not ideal. If you have other dogs I'd like my own space until I've adjusted to my new reality. I do well with neutered male and female dogs. I'd like to meet my new dog friends so we can find out before adoption if we'll be compatible. No homes with cats please. I'm a handsome, 3-year-old, blue Pit Bull Terrier who weighs 60 lbs.
