    Breed: Dalmatian-Pointer Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult

Posted Breed: Pointer / Dalmatian / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $125. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team I'm the perfect combination of fun and naps! Date into Rescue: 2/8/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Pulled from a NC shelter, Oreo was surrendered by her owner when they moved. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Oreo came to us with heartworms, but tested negative 12/3/2017! No more heartworms! Weight: 79 lb Height: Estimated 17 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $125 Fence needed? Not needed, but Oreo would love one What kind of home would be best for me? Oreo would love somewhere to romp and play and run and then cuddle time with her person! She is good with dogs around her size and would love a dog friend to play and spend time with. She does not need to go to a home with other small animals; she seems to think they are toys. What is my personality like? Oreo came to the rescue as a bonded pair with her little poodle friend, Bailey. They were not bonded and Oreo really found herself when they were separated, so we decided to adopt them separately. Oreo loves to romp and play. She is always running and playing in our big field with her other big dog friends. After a full day of play she loves to lie in the sun or in the cool grass. Oreo has a pretty moderate energy level. She is pretty independent for the most part, but she does enjoy being affectionate with people. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly. Other tips and tidbits: House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

Date into Rescue: 2/28/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Released by previous owner because they were relocating to a new place Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none noted Weight: 45.4 lb Height: About 24 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed?& A fence would be helpful until she is acclimated to her new home. What kind of home would be best for me? Brielle needs a quiet, more reserved home with owners that have a soft spot for timid dogs. Brielle is reportedly a 3rd generation shepadoodle - german shepherd and standard poodle. But since she looks so much more like a labrador retriever, we've put that breed instead. Brielle reportedly has some standard poodle in her but we don't see much and she does shed. She is good with other dogs and fine with cats. What is my personality like? Brielle came to the farm as an owner release with a few others. From day one she has always been timid and scared while her other siblings have come out of their shells and found homes. Brielle is the type of dog that will need plenty of one on one time to get her where she needs to be in life. Everyone at the farm has worked with her and she will now take treats out of our hands, but she could really use help in a permanent home to help her grow. She has great potential with a sweet and gentle nature and just needs a special person to help her along her way. How do I act when I first meet new people? Cautious but warms up Other Tips and Tidbits: ‚ÄčUpdate 10/05/17- Brielle has come a long way since she first came to us. She is sweet and will allow some love from people she is with everyday. She wants to trust people and find a forever home, but she just needs time and patience. She does perfectly fine with all dogs, and they help her relax and learn that we people are not so bad. Brielle needs an understanding human that has a soft spot for dogs with troubled souls. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Date into Rescue: 5/30/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Found as a stray in eastern North Carolina Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: 50 lbs Height: about 24 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes, she is very energetic! What kind of home would be best for me? Mia would be great in a number of settings as long as her people are energetic and do a lot. She is a lot of girl. She is good with other dogs and didn't react to our cats here, so should be good with a cat in the home. She is not a fan of children 10 years or younger; her forever home must have older, mature kids or adults only. Mia needs an active home that understands that big girls need play time and running time. She'd be a great running companion. What is my personality like? Mia is a very beautiful girl. She is sweet and, if give the chance, will love on you all day. She's a big lap baby. Mia enjoys playing fetch and learning new things. She's a quick learner and knows basic commands such as sit, stay, and lay down. Mia learns quickly! She loves belly rubs once she throws herself into your lap. Mia walks well on a leash and would make a great hiking buddy. She also rides well in a car. Mia loves to run and play so she needs a home that can keep up with this girl. How do I act when I first meet new people? Other tips and tidbits: She has lots of energy and does well with the big dogs in the field. She doesn't pay any mind to the little dogs. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 08/01/2015 Reason for being in rescue: Previous owner released her to a local shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Yes - Diabetes Insipidus. What does that mean? Buckles drinks water - all day - and urinates frequently as a result. This is a rare form of diabetes that is caused by a deficiency of the pituitary hormone (vasopressin) which regulates kidney function. This disorder is very uncommon and is not curable. To put it simply - her kidneys can accept water but can't process it correctly, so water passes through her body very quickly. Thus, she urinates frequently and must have 24/7 access to water. Buckles is currently on a hormone-replacement medication (given through eye drops twice per day). It does help some. We are working with her to find out what is the best dosage for her. The medication is about $120 per month. Weight: 13 lb Height: est 13 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $I'm special! Fence needed? Yes - Buckles is very active and loves to run. What kind of home would be best for me? Buckles does have a "house training" issue only because of her condition. For someone who is retired and is home all the time, her house training isn't much of a problem. She must be taken outside every two hours, and her house training is basically controlled. She would love a house with a doggie door. She goes to the door in her foster home if she needs to go out. She wears diapers if her foster mom is going out more than 2 hours. Buckles cannot be deprived of water as it can be fatal to her. What is my personality like? All that sounds frightening and it is but there is more to Buckles than bad plumbing. Buckles is spunky, friendly and loving. She is energetic and must have a fenced in yard to run in. She gets along with other dogs and cats and would be a great playmate to another dog her size or larger. Buckles is eager to please and bonds quickly. How do I act when I first meet new people? Happy, friendly and gregarious. Other Tips and Tidbits: Despite her condition, Buckles is a very happy girl and very adaptable! Her foster mom says she's the easiest dog she's ever had. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. Date into Rescue: 5/2/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release/health of the owner Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none needed Weight: About 45 lbs Height: est 22" at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? I need a home with no other smaller animals, and where I can be loved of course! What is my personality like? He is a whole lot of dog. His owner did tell us that he has had problems with other dogs, especially little dogs, so we have not tested him with others nose to nose. This can be done on request but Charlie is so people focused we'd really like to find him a home as an only dog. Note that dogs can walk by his crate all day or he can be with other dogs with a fence between them with no issues at all. Dogs who want to be only dogs are rare. He is an ideal candidate for someone who only wants one dog. Charlie is physically very strong! He pulls on his leash and for some reason has an obsession with the shower in the kennel because if given the chance he runs straight for it. We don't have a pool but I'd love to see this water loving dog doing some hiking where he can splash in the creeks. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly. Other tips and tidbits: Charlie doesn't know basic commands but he is learning he has to sit for his treats. I think he will be a fast learner. He would need a fence. He is very friendly with the adults in our kennel but has not been tested with kids. On our walk he kept his nose to the ground and was full speed ahead! He didn't bark when meeting new people and was perfectly okay with them approaching him to love on him. UPDATE 1/30/2018: Charlie truly lives to please people. His whole world begins and ends with humans. As soon as you walk into the kennel and make eye contact with him his tail immediatly starts to wag and he does his happy dance. This boy is not hard to win over what so ever, and he will surly be after your own heart! Since being here we have learned that Charlie DOES NOT like other dogs. He would prefer to be the only pet. He has learned to sit, to go in his crate, give shakes, and to go straight to the door when being let out. Charlie is easily trainable due to him just wanting to please you. Just like any other young lab he loves tennis balls and really really loves being let out into the bigger field we have, he loves to get his exercise! Date into Rescue: 05/02/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Link Basil was surrendered to CPR by his owners. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: 23 lbs Height: Estimated 14.5 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Link needs a quiet home that is willing to understand him. On the plus side, because his mother was a poodle Link is a low shedder. He is not a highly active dog and would be fine for someone who is a homebody and likes to putter around the house. He has not shown us that he needs to run and leap and jump a lot. Link was previously adopted from CPR and returned for biting. Owner Experience Level 6: More than 10 years as a dog owner. Has worked with at least one behavior issues that did not require professional intervention. OR has worked with one serious medical issue that required professional care (diabetes, epilepsy, Cushing's, Addison's, etc) What is my personality like? Link arrived at the farm along with siblings due to no fault of his own. His caregivers say I probably haven't had much interaction with more than 2 people so he is nervous. Once he warms up to you he is okay with being petted. When walking on a leash Link is a little frantic as if he does not know where to go but will eventually get used to it. Link has no experience with children and we believe with their higher energy, he would not do well. He ignores the cat that is living in our office in a cat condo but has not been nose to nose with one. He is crate trained and he wants to please. While we've not been able to teach him any of the basics yet like sit, he is eager to please. He does love to have his back scratched and he's always up for a good treat or cookie given time. Link was previously adopted but returned due to biting. Since being back at the farm he can no longer go out with dogs because he does not get along with them. He needs an experienced home willing to learn his triggers and work through them. How do I act when I first meet new people? Timid. Link will bark at strangers. Other tips and tidbits: Link needs a very experienced owner in a home where he will be the only dog. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. Date into Rescue: 6/16/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release due to the declining health of the owner. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: 18 lb Height: About 13 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No - Sissy walks well on leash What kind of home would be best for me? Beautify Sissy was once the apple of her dad's eye but eye surgery robbed him of his sight and he could not look out for Sissy. During this time, they lived at an assisted living facility, Sissy got very protective and even though Dad told people not to come to his apartment when he was gone for Sissy didn't like that, a housekeeper did. Sissy took offense to the intrustion and chased the housekeeper out, nipping her in the process. Sadly, housekeeper's do not take kindly to that and reported the incident. Sissy's choices were looking very slim when CPR stepped in. Sissy's best home would be one that has a separate house and that understands that, as long as she knows she's not in charge, she has no reason to resource guard. Sissy also gets along ok with other dogs, but would also be very happy being an only dog. What is my personality like? Sissy has lived a fairly quiet life but because they lived in assisted living, she met a lot of people and is actually fairly social. She doesn't do well with lots of chaos and I think longs for the quiet days sitting on her dad's lap, but she does need a lot more exericse than she was getting and she is thriving living on the farm and walking with her foster pack. How do I act when I first meet new people? A bit stand offish but she is friendly enough. Other tips and tidbits: Sissy is one of the few dogs we do not crate train. She is pretty well house trained although she'll need reminders. She loves to sleep cuddled up next to her foster dad at night.

Date into Rescue: Originally 3/29/16 and he was returned December 2017 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release due to a change in the owner's life Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Yes - behavior. Oliver was adopted in May of 2016 but returned to us primarily for biting several people. He was so friendly when he was first here; we are not really sure why this changed happened in Oliver. He needs someone to understand him. He does not like being bothered while in his crate. To him that is his space and no one else's. He WILL warning growl at you while in his crate to let you know he does not want to be bothered. He also does not like anyone messing with his food. If he is not familiar with you, then he does not like you being in his face. He needs his trust earned before you go romp and play in the fields with him. Oliver has not bitten anyone at our rescue, but he has shown his teeth and snapped when engaging in play with a caregiver he isn't familiar with. With the caregivers he is familiar with he is his normal sweet and silly self outside of his crate. He eventually turns into a dog that loves attention, baby talk, and playing. Weight: 53 lb Height: About 24 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Oliver needs an all adult home that has a soft spot for troubled souls and is familiar with moody dogs. What is my personality like? Oliver is a mocking bird, if you are quiet and reserved, he is also quiet and reserved. If you are rough and running around, he is also rough and running around. He notices everything and is very curious. He is extremely loving and playful. Oliver's personality really depends on you. He loves to be a couch potato but he will also go for a long run when you want to. Oliver knows how to sit, shake, and lay down (with a reward of a treat of course! :) ) He loves to go for long walks beside you and then roll around in the grass on his back. How do I act when I first meet new people? Oliver was originally very loving and affectionate to people, but he is no longer as open to strangers and needs patience. He was adopted but had to be returned in March of 2018 due to lifestyle changes of his owner Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Carter is on a low dose of trazadone due to anxiety. Starting in July we're adding CBD oil to his regimen to see if this more holistic approach will help him and wean him off the CBD, He is also wearing a bark (sound only) collar and it has helped his anxiety levels immensely. When he gets excited and starts barking, the sound reminds him to stop and realize there is no danger and he can relax. Weight: 25 lbs est Height: 16 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No but Carter loves to run. He needs a good space several times a week to run and romp off leash and he needs daily walks of at least 5 miles (split into a couple of walks). He has excellent energy and loves to see the world. What kind of home would be best for me? Carter would thrive in a home with consistency, routine, exercise and stability. He had that for his first several years but then things changed. He would love to have that back. He is fine with most people but occasionally he meets someone he does not trust and once that happens, that does not change. He has been put through many people changes in his life and he wants a home where everyone stays the same. What is my personality like? With those he loves, Carter is affectionate, happy and a lot of fun. He loves to snuggle and will happily sleep next to you all night. He is eager to please and eager to learn. He knows the basics but would really benefit from some advanced obedience. In his previous home, he was reactive on leash towards dogs and people but we're working on that and he's much better. How do I act when I first meet new people? He can be cautious at first but to those he loves he warms up quickly. Other tips and tidbits: Carter was adopted by a young (high school) student and her family when he was a puppy. Sadly, lives change and Carter's young owner took a different path then the one she was originally on. She left her home and could not take Carter with her. Her parents like Carter but want a life where they can travel. Her sister tried to bring Carter into her home but Carter did not care for her boyfriend so Carter came back to the farm to try again. It is our commitment to our dogs to always be here for them. Carter is now a middle aged mixed breed and his chances of winning the new home lottery are slim but we are going to try. He has a lot of love to give the right person. House trained? He was adopted by a loving family. Unfortunately, Beaux became aggressive toward a small dog in the home and he was returned to CPR in June 2018. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: Est 48 lbs (he's a little chunky) Height: Est 24" at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Beaux needs a home with experienced owners. He cannot be in a home with small dogs. We have tried him with several large dogs here. He will walk on a leash side by side but when the new dog tries to "sniff and say hello" and properly introduce themselves as dogs do, Beaux wants no part of it. A bit part of the problem is he's so focused on making sure he knows where his human handler is that he does not want the distraction of another dog. Once he feels more secure, he may accept another large dog. Beaux's new family will need to understand that as a working breed, Beaux needs a job to do. He can't just be a couch potato! A nice big fenced in yard with plenty of open space to run would be just right but remember that you have to be out there with him. Beaux does not want to run alone. He wants to be with his people and/or in his safe place - in his crate. What is my personality like? Beaux is a gorgeous brown and white border collie. He is incredibly friendly to people and thinks they are wonderful. Beaux was surrendered for being aggressive to a small dog. Beaux does have a lot of anxiety in him, anxiety that will temper but not completely alleviate once he is in his new home. He wants a person - he does not have separation anxiety but having someone love him is going to make him happy. Beaux is so smart, he can actually open doors when the mood strikes him! He enjoys being loved on and running around. He is very mellow in his crate, but Beaux needs space where he can be free to run and enjoy life. He plays fetch and is not aggressive at all when you take the ball back from him. He just wants to be with you. He lets you know when he is ready to rest by nosing the door to go back in. Beaux is medium energy, depending on what is going on around him. Beaux is not food or crate aggressive to people he knows. A new person needs introduced before they can take the bowl out. A new person becomes a BFF in just a few hours. Simply spend some time with him and you will earn his trust. He is a toy hoarder and he loves anything that squeaks. He is very clean in his crate! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Be prepared for a lot of people to tell you what a stunning, beautiful dog you have.
