  • American Pit Bull Terrier-Pointer Mix Dog For Adoption in DENVER, CO, USA

    Luna

    verified verified

    rescue
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Pointer Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Luna is a Female Pit Bull- Pointer Mix Dog for adoption to a very loving rural home in or near Denver, Colorado. This very special Dog is 4 years years old and weighs 55-60 lbs pounds. One of the most devoted dogs you will ever meet. She thrives on the companionship of her one special person. Luna is very healthy. She is spayed, micro-chipped, up to date on shots and obedience trained (Elementary and Intermediate classes through PetSmart). She is very intelligent, and eager to please her person. Luna comes from an uncertain past situation. She was found as a stray in New Mexico and brought to Colorado through a rescue organization. She likely had some abuse in her past, and neglect was certainly an issue. As a result of this, Luna has some trust issues around people and things she is unfamiliar or uncertain with. These include small children, skateboarders, bicyles and yappy small dogs. She is also territorial, and can have some resource-guarding issues in areas that she deems to be her territory (places where she spends time with her owner). In spite of these issues, Luna is a very affectionate, smart, funny and adorable dog. Luna’s owner is devastated to have to find her a new home, however she is pregnant and will soon have a little one in her home. Having Luna in the home with a small child is not feasible, and she is dearly hoping to find a forever home for Luna where she will be loved unconditionally without the worry of unpredictable small kids. Luna’s ideal home will be with dog lovers who live in the country. She is best suited for a home with just one or two people, and no other pets. Homebodies who do not do a lot of entertaining and who would welcome the companionship and sense of security a dog like Luna can offer. Questions about Luna? Contact our Denver Dog rehoming team today. Text “Luna” to (888) 833-2128 or email LunaDog-lover.us. We look forward to hearing from you. There is a $75 adoption/rehoming fee.

  • Pointer Dog For Adoption in Denver, CO, USA

    Oscar

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Pointer
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pointer / Hound. Next Adoption Event: Saturday, March 23rd from 10 am - 12 pm (or until the last puppy is adopted) Location: The Hopeful Hound at 16780 E. Iliff Ave, Aurora CO 80013 This is the Southwest corner of Iliff and Buckley - the corner with Burger King and the Money Tree. Look for our signs out on the sidewalk in front of our new place. We are right next to the groomer. Click to visit our website and view our adoption policies, procedures and tips. (Adopt by Owner Dogs will not be at our adoption event.) Sign up online Here. Oscar is up to date on all shots and heart worm treatments. No known illness's or injuries. Is very good with kids, we have small children and there has been no issues. He is fixed and chipped. He does well with our other dog, have not had him around cats, though we don't think it would be an issue because he does not chase after or pay attention to any out door animals. Oscar is very well kennel and house trained, he has never had any formal training. In the 6 months that we have had him we have started working on commands like sit, stay and lay down. He eats two times a day on a schedule and does not seem to have a sensitive stomach. Now here is the real deal about Oscar. He has tons of energy! He loves to run, walk and PLAY!!! He has energy that lasts for days! Unfortunately we have not had the time to be able to give him all the playing he needs. He would probably do great with a family that has a little bit older children though he does great with small children also. He loves wrestling and tug of war. The only issues that we have had with Oscar is shoe eating ( which we mostly attribute to ourselves because we have not had enough time to give him the play time he needs) he always does better days on our days at home because of the extra time we are able to play with him on those days. He also needs a little more training with staying, if he is not harnessed he does run, but he has never tried to get out of our fenced yard. If you are interested in Oscar, please contact the Downing family at lstcnfsd99gmail. ABOUT ADOPTING FROM CPR: Adopters must be 21 years of age or older. We are sadly having to rehome our 3 year old sweet border collie rescue that we got from Colorado puppy rescue. She and our 12 year old female lab are no longer getting along. Nellie is completely house trained and let’s you know when she needs to go out. She is crate trained and loves the crate especially when she needs a little quiet. Nellie can be a bit shy and tentative at first. She is a bit of a nervous Nellie! We have been working hard on this and she is getting much better! She loves treats so she is very easy to train. She can sit , give her paw, lie down. She comes when we call. We’re working on stay but she will stop on a walk when we need to releash. She has never ever run off. Nellie is in great health and is spayed and current on all of her shots. She takes heart worm medicine year round. And apoquel for allergies in the spring and summer. We’ve got extra from last year. Nellie weighs about 50 lbs - medium sized. We think she would do best in a home where she is the only princess. She has never been exposed to cats. We don’t have young children but we’ve had friends Visit with littles and she has done fine. She sleeps next to our bed or under our bed and has her own bed in the kitchen. She has free reign of the house during the day. She is well loved and we want to see her happy in a home where she will continue to thrive.
