Websites such as Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet may not show all the information that we have listed. FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Lucy is a young and friendly beagle/hound mix. She is estimated to be between 1-2 years old. She wags her tail a lot but can be a bit cautious at first. She gets along well with all of her foster mom's resident dogs. She has not had the pleasure to meet cats yet. Lucy has done well around the kids she has met so far. She is a quiet, calm and lower energy dog. Lucy is housebroken and can go between 4-7 hours during the day without accidents. Lucy's foster says she does not use a crate with her. She divides her sleeping time at night up between a comfy spot downstairs, in her foster's bed and on a doggie bed in a bedroom. Lucy would love a fenced in yard of her own. She loves being outside and lay in the sunshine. Lucy does very well on a leash. She would do well as an only dog or with fur siblings. She is working on her basic commands; so far she knows sit. Lucy loves laying out in the sun and her foster mom's homemade chicken treats. She is very chill and quiet, also super sweet and loving. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Lucy was a stray that a kind person took in and then contacted BFPA to help find her a home. She is in a wonderful foster home but is now looking for her forever home! Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC. Becca is a 10 year old female terrier mix who weighs about 25-30lbs. She came to GCSPCA in December 2018 with three other dogs from a hoarding situation. As a result, Becca is a little nervous in new places and around new people initially, but warms up quickly. Becca is very submissive and does great with other dogs. She also does well with cats as she doesn’t really pay them any attention. She is pretty low energy and loves to spend her days curled up on a comfy dog bed or on the sun. She does get short bursts of energy and enjoys going for walks. She is house trained, but in the event that she isn’t let outside quick enough, she is 100% puppy pad trained. Becca is looking for a home that will give her time to adjust and let her lounge around all day! He had a broken leg which is healing very nicely, but still needs to stay calm for a few weeks to make sure it continues to heal properly. He is learning very quickly to rest in his crate. He is good with children and other dogs. He will sniff and lick cats as long as they don’t run. But if they run then game on! He is not aggressive with them at all, just fun and playful. He is very playful, but respectful. He loves people very much and insists on belly rubs as much as possible. He did live in a backyard, so he does needs some work on walking on a leash.
