    Adorable Ral...

    rescue
    Breed: Maltese
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Maltese (medium coat). Please contact Angelicka (theycallmeangelogmail) for more information about this pet. Meet Ralphie! Ralphie is a small breed mix, weighing in at around 8 pounds. He is 7-9 years old but is still a spunky little boy! Ralphie gets along with other dogs and loves every human he meets. He prefers dog beds and blankets on the floor to being on furniture. He does have a crooked smile from an old jaw injury which makes him drool a bit, but it does not require him to have a special diet. Since he was neutered late in life, he is working on not marking in the house, and will need continued practice in his new home. Ralphie’s adoption fee is $200. All Paws and Prayers animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and microchipped. Non-obligatory adoption applications (available HERE) are required to be submitted prior to scheduling a meeting and greet. This animal qualifies for a discounted adoption rate for veterans and first responders; ask us how!

    Carlos Frank...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (long coat). Please contact Nikki (monkeydogs4columbus.rr) for more information about this pet. Carlos' adoption donation is $275 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention as well as flea prevention. Carlos was also in need of a dental cleaning and he had multiple extractions but he handled it well and feels so much better. Carlos requires a home with a strong verifiable veterinary history. Carlos is an approximately 8 year old yorkie who was rescued from a local shelter where he was picked up as a stray in very poor condition and placed on their euthanasia listing. He is a pretty low key guy who prefers to sleep most of the day. He really only gets fired up when it's dinner time (he loves to eat). He is not comfortable around children so a home with no children under the age of 10-12 is needed. Carlos gets along well with the older small dogs in his foster home and is fine around the cats there too. He does well with housetraining as long as he is kept on a schedule. Carlos loves squeaky toys and taking long naps. Carlos would do best in a quiet home with no children and with an owner with a strong veterinary reference as he will most likely need future dental cleanings and he needs to be on a quality diet to help his haircoat and skin continue to improve. He has also been diagnosed with progressive retinal atrophy which means he will ultimately lose his eyesight. This does not cause any pain and dogs usually adjust pretty well as the loss of sight is fairly gradual in most cases. PLEASE NOTE: If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website, not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances. If you go to the individual webpage of our dogs, you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here: .ohiofuzzypawz/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog. We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved. It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable. If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence. Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets. The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at .ohiofuzzypawz/forms. The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information. If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed. Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home. No application is approved prior to the home visit being done. At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer. We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.

We rescued Max from a local kill shelter where he was brought in as a stray in poor condition. Max is a pretty low-key little guy who would do best in a quiet home. He is an excellent cuddler and is a perfect lap dog. He did not appear to be housetrained when we took him in, but he is doing much better now when kept on a schedule. Max does well with the cats in his foster home and tolerates the other small dogs. Overall though he is very tolerant and non-confrontational. Max's ideal home would be a quiet one where he could get a lot of attention and affection. A fenced yard would also be helpful for continuing to work on his housetraining.
