    Dobby

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Unknown breed (long coat). This pint-sized cutie is an energetic and friendly senior. Dobby is looking for a home that can provide lots of positive reinforcement as well as all the pats and pets! He is a bit nervous but will be calmer once in a low-key, non-stressful environment with folks who have a lot of time to hang out with him. Dobby's fur is lovely and inviting but needs daily brushing and regular grooming to prevent matting- and he looks glamorous now with his new haircut! Dobby would prefer a home with older teens or adults only- he is a older gentleman who likes that low-key kind of life.Once he's used to you he's a sweet, petite velcro dog! Dobby's hobbies include going on long, leisurely strolls, and in the company of his favorite he likes to curl up in a little ball and take a nice nap on their laps, or at least nearby. He’s accustomed to luxury and will try to build a doggy nest with towels or blankets so that he may sleep upon it. He'll greet you at the door when you come home and sing a little "song of joy" and may jump up in excitement. Since Dobby's an older guy, he doesn't have all his chompers and prefers eating soft food. Age: 10 to 12+ years How I came to PAWS: Found as stray Animal ID#: A40837638 Weight: 8 lbs Mixed breed (It’s impossible to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. Nina

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Nina is a sweet 1 year old girl looking for her forever home. She found her way to PAWS after being surrendered by her previous owner. She enjoys her stay in foster care, spends the day playing with her bigger foster brother, snuggling next to every human she can convince to let her, and makes sure every stuffed animal is played with throughout the day. What she would love even more is to find a forever home that helps her build up her confidence and teaches her the rules of the house. Nina is housebroken, gets along well with dogs and cats as long as they are not too pushy, and enjoys walks as much as sleep. She is a bit anxious when thrown into a new situation, but all she needs is some time to adjust and feel comfortable before she shows her goofy side. Nina should only live in a house with older, respectful kids (think teens) who understand her need for down time and space, or in an adult-only home. She generally likes people of all ages and sizes, but has been possessive of human food in the past. While it's generally not recommended to give dogs human food under most circumstances, small children especially don't understand that food can be seen as a "high-value resource" by dogs, so we are presently pursuing a home for Nina that does not have younger kids. Age: 1 year How I came to PAWS: Nina came back to PAWS because her previous family had a small child, which does not mesh well with Nina's history of being possessive with edible high-value items. Animal ID#: A40684525 Weight: ~20lbs Mixed breed (It’s impossible to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. Breed: Chihuahua-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Fawn is a sweet treat! She is 6 pounds of love that has come a long way from the underweight and scared chichi brought into the shelter. Today she gets super excited for her next tasty meal. In between meals she likes to go for a nice jaunt outside, (if the weather is right) or stay swaddled in her blankets next to the space heater, show off how high she can actually jump during her occasional zoomies or might even do her "Candy Dance" for you. Inside, she likes to perch for comfort- on the top of the couch, a throw pillow, any pile that keeps her higher up and sometimes curls up into a ball on your lap. Fawn should live somewhere quiet and comfortable, where she can be around people and have her own space. She doesn't mind her cat friends in the house and vise versa. She has shown little interest in small dogs and has barked at bigger dogs, but eventually settles down. When her bat ears perk up you will immediately fall in love with her tiny face and whiskers. When you call her and she runs to you full speed, it's pure joy. Posted Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). 2019 is going to be Ollie's year! This little guy has the silliest personality and always knows how to make us smile. His hobbies include demanding belly rubs, playing tug of war and tossing his toys in the air, and going on the occasional relaxing car ride. He's looking for a home that can appreciate a confident little guy with an independent streak who knows how to have fun. Ollie came to us full of painful mats, but he's feeling much more like himself with a fresh haircut! This young dog was found as a stray but totally has the makings of a treasured family member. To help him be the best doggy he can be, Andy Dwyer could use some basic obedience training. We believe he will flourish in a home that can offer mental stimulation via enrichment toys/activities and as well as daily exercise. Posted Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). If you are looking for a new best friend, Sasha is your girl! She will greet you with happy wiggles and shower you with cuddles and kisses! She loves to be anywhere her special people are and is content to curl up in a soft bed. Some of the activities that Sasha enjoys include shopping, car rides, and walks in the neighborhood or park. She has good car manners and has been known to cause people in other cars to spontaneously smile when she peeks out the window! Although she is a senior gal, Sasha still has a lot of pep in her step! Matrix

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Shih Tzu-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Shih Tzu / Mixed (long coat). Matrix is a true couch potato — he likes to curl up next to people, solicit belly rubs that make him smile and then take snoozes (with snoring that entertains anyone within earshot!). Looking for a small, mellow senior pup who can be serious one moment and then goofy the next? Meet Matrix, a 10-12 year old male shih tzu mix who is looking for his forever home. He was surrendered at the shelter when his owner became too ill to take care of him. As much as he enjoys lounging, he equally loves going for walks outside which is good because he needs to lose some weight. When he is overly excited, he will grunt causing his foster mom to jokingly call him part piglet. Ever since he was groomed, he has shown his true personality with occasional small "bursts" of energy as he trots down the sidewalk looking for new and familiar human friends. He has quickly become a favorite in his foster mom's neighborhood. Matrix had his right eye removed sometime in his past, no details are known around why or when. He limps when he walks due to some discomfort with his front right leg which is believed to be potentially caused by arthritis. Though the current pain medication he is taking is helping, he can't do steps so his future adopter will need to carry him up and down stairs. Matrix could live with another dog that isn't overly energetic or interested in him. He has previously lived with cats as well as children — though presently older, teenaged children who respect the sensitivities around his sore leg, or an adult-only home will work best. Age: 10-12 yrs How I came to PAWS: Surrendered due to owner illness Animal ID#: A40684633 Weight: 15-17lbs+ (although Matrix is a little chunky presently and should be closer to 12-15lbs ideallly) Mixed breed (It’s impossible to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. Breed: Mutt

Posted Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Look at this cute dynamic duo! Oatmeal (the gray/white fellow) and Raisin (his petite, brown, toothless comrade) were found running astray near a retirement facility, and so their running joke is they escaped the old folks home together to elope. Oatmeal has a "cherry eye"-a benign issue with his eyelid, and Raisin is missing most of her teeth, prompting her tongue to stick out like a party blower. Together they make a hilariously adorable pair that greatly enjoy each other's company and want to stick together! Oatmeal's a little more outgoing with other canines, while Raisin tolerates them but will tell everyone and their mother when she wants her space. They could live with polite same-sized dogs, and with adults and teens who don't mind the occasional sass and tiny senior dog howls. Oatmeal and Raisin can frequently be found cuddling on pillows together, following around their favorite people, and generally hamming it up for attention. They'll both need homes that can provide frequent senior vet care since they're older, and will happily pay their adopters back with 24/7 cuteness and hilarity.
