    Wellington B...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Coonhound-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Coonhound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $585. Age: 4 Months (as of 3/22/19) Weight: 9.35 lbs (as of 3/7/19) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Wellington Beach LOVES belly rubs! He's one of six boys in this litter of eight puppies, who appear to be a Coonhound mix born sometime toward the end of November 2018. They are typical puppies who'll need to work on their "big dog" skills: house training, crate training (in progress) and walking on leash. Hounds are of the working dog class and love to have a "job." Attending puppy training classes with your pup ensures that you and your new BFF will have the proper basic training to build on and is great for building trust and the all-important human/dog bond. A fenced yard is the ideal safe place for your hound puppy to play and explore, so that active nose doesn't lead him astray. Advanced training could include "Nose Work" which would be right up their alley! These kids get along fine with other dogs and have been playful with children they've met. They can be redirected away from kitties who don't care to interact. Wellington LOVES to play with his friends and he enjoys toys, but he also likes relaxing and taking it easy. He's a super happy boy who craves attention and will lift his paw to ask you for more! Let's not disappoint this sweet boy! Fill out an application today for Wellington Beach and his people will get right back to you! The Beach Kids' Story: The Beach litter was found at a house that had them listed as free Christmas puppies for gifts. When one of our Mississippi rescue partner's employees arrived to help with another dog in need they found all the Coonhound puppies with little to no fur and knew if they ended up in the wrong hands they would never have their medical needs tended to and be spayed or neutered to prevent the overpopulation problem in the south so brought them to the shelter. They were then brought to our rescue and treated for demodectic mange which included proper bathing and bravecto. Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange: .vcahospitals/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodectic-in-dogs/741 . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor. Adoption Fee: $585 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: .sosarl/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.

    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $585. *** COME MEET ME! *** Age: 1.5 Years (as of 1/21/19) Weight: 52 lbs (as of 1/11/19) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Millie Pool LOVES to go for car rides! She absolutely expects to be your errand buddy and road trip sidekick ("Can I go? Huh? Huh? Can I go now?")! Playful and curious, she'll need to be in an active home. She'll make a great running or hiking buddy. She appears to be a Hound mix born mid to late July in 2017. She's house trained, crate trained, and walks okay on leash. She loves playing with other dogs, but seems a little too interested in cats - she will bark at them - and though she got along famously with a friend's dog-loving cats, we think she would chase any kitty who was not a fan of dogs. She recently went on an excursion and met a mom with her one-year daughter and with mom's permission Millie got pets from this little girl. She LOVED it and couldn't stop wagging her tail! She was so relaxed and kept giving the child kisses. She also met a 3-year old and had the best time playing with him! She's VERY gentle with small children. She currently seems a little guarded when meeting men, but she's working on that with her caretaker. Attending training classes with her new human(s) will give Millie a confidence boost and the opportunity to make new friends, both furry and otherwise. Though she'd love her own fenced yard to run around in, daily leash walks for exercise, business and adventure will work, too. Puzzle toys and games will keep that active canine mind busy and mentally sharp. Millie Pool LOVES toys - she's gotta have toys! She also loves her blanket and will drag it outside through the doggie door. She's a little bit goofy and a lotta affectionate and outgoing. This gorgeous girl is super excited about finding her forever home and human(s)! If she seems like the perfect addition to your "pack," fill out an application today! Her people will get right back to you! Medical Note: This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline.
