Mutt

A mongrel, mixed-breed dog

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.

Lab-Pointer

The Lab-Pointer is a cross between an Labrador Retriever and a Pointer. The Lab-Pointer is a hybrid or designer breed that was developed by crossing Labrador Retriever and a Pointer. Though the breed was intended to be a 50/50 mix, many of the Lab-Pointer are bred over many generations and may not always be 50% and 50%. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Boxador

The Boxador is a cross between an Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. The Boxador is a hybrid or designer breed that was developed by crossing Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Though the breed was intended to be a 50/50 mix, many of the Boxador are bred over many generations and may not always be 50% and 50%. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. The Malt-A-Poo is a mix between the Maltese and the Poodle. These dogs get along well in most families, if they have a yard for exercise.

Labrenees

Pyrador, Pyrelab

Labrenees or Pyrador is the mix of one large-sized dog; the Great Pyrenees and one medium-sized dog; Labrador Retriever. As a hybrid, it has better quality than its parent breeds as the traits and characteristics are mixed. These are very large dogs that are typically more cooperative and trainable than the Great Pyrenees, but more discriminating and naturally protective than the Labrador Retriever.
