Beagle Dachshund mix PHOEBE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Phoebe Best Guess for Breed: Beagle-Dachshund mix Best Guess for Age: 10 to 12 months SEX: female Approximate Weight: 20 lbs. Has Lived With: other dogs Currently Living at: Shelter - but will be coming to the DC area soon and needs a foster! Special adoption considerations: may be vocal due to breed. Hello, my name is Phoebe and I will soon be on my way to Washington, DC. I hope you will come out and meet me, as well as my sisters, Bangle and Buffy. It's a running joke between the three of us as to who inherited the brains and beauty in the family. Not to brag but I think we all look pretty darn cute. As to who is the smartest I guess we will have to wait until it's time for obedience school to figure that one out. A lively little Beagle-Dachshund mix Phoebe is just waiting to find her forever home. It will be hard leaving her sisters but she knows good things lie ahead and Phoebe can't wait to have a human family of her own. Hound dogs are known for being loyal so you can expect Phoebe to bond with you very soon after she moves in. Like most young dogs Phoebe has a good deal of energy and will need you to help her channel it. Keep her busy with long walks, maybe even some running. Time at the dog park or doggie daycare will not only help Phoebe burn some energy but will also give a her a chance to socialize with other dogs, which she is sure to love. Obedience training is a must for Phoebe as hounds prefer to do what they want to do, when they want to do it. Training will help Phoebe understand what the rules are rather than allowing her to make them up on her own. Hounds are usually food-motivated so some tasty treats will go a long way when training her. Make training fun and you both will enjoy the process as well as the end results. Like most shelter dogs, Phoebe may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Phoebe gets along fine with other dogs but is untested with cats or kids. The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org! Name: Buffy Best Guess for Breed: beagle/doxie mix Best Guess for Age: 10-12 months old as of 04/01/2018 SEX: female Approximate Weight: 20 lbs Has Lived With: dogs Currently Living at: scary shelter- needs a foster or better yet a forever home! Hi, my name is Buffy and I am currently living at a shelter! Luckily, I am heading to the DC area very soon to find my new human family! What I am really looking for is someone or someone(s) who are very loving, active (as i love a good walk or jog) and has some free time to take me to obedience school! I mean how great, if we both learned some new tricks/manners so that I can be a part of the family! I haven't really met many kids or cats, but if that is of interest we can certainly make that happen. just let those other humans at Lucky Dog know! Like most shelter dogs, Buffy may need a refresher on housetraining. Shr is likely crate trained. The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Posted Breed: Beagle / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet. 10 to 12 month old, 20 lb. Beagle Dachshund mix BANGLE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Bangle Best Guess for Breed: Beagle-Dachshund Best Guess for Age: 10 to 12 months SEX: female Approximate Weight: 20 lbs. Has Lived With: other dogs Currently Living at: the shelter, Bangle needs a foster as well as a forever home. Special adoption considerations: may be vocal due to breed. It's hard to imagine a sight cuter than a Beagle-Dachshund puppy and Bangle is no exception. This sweet little girl will just melt your heart when you meet her. No longer a baby but not quite an adolescent Bangle is still learning what the big world is all about. Inquisitive and clever, Bangle will be a delightful addition to any family. Beagles and Dachshunds are both sturdy little dogs with great stamina. Expect Bangle to want to play with you for as much time as you have to give her. She will gladly walk for miles at your side and will appreciate the chance to run off-leash at a dog park or maybe doggie daycare. Provide Bangle with ample exercise each day and both of you will be happy. As a mixture of two hound breeds Bangle is likely to have an independent spirit so start training early and keep at it. Hounds are easily distracted by everything they see and smell so you will want to know how to hold Bangle's attention. The good news is that hounds are usually very food-motivated so break out those training treats for reinforcement. Puzzle toys will likely be a big hit with Bangle, especially if she can find some tasty morsels hidden inside. Like most shelter dogs, Bangle may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Bangle likes spending time with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids. The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Hadley D180...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Doxle
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350. Name: Hadley Age: 18 months Gender: Female Breed: Beagle mix Weight: 24 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: TBD Kid friendly: Kids 14+ only House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Energy level: Moderate History: From a shelter in Kentucky Adoption Fee: $350 From the Foster: Hadley did not have the easiest start to her life but has shown to be a resilient dog in her foster home. She came from a hoarding situation where she was not properly socialized and was terrified of everything. Hadley is still a little timid and shy, but has also turned into a silly snuggle monster. She goes full out wiggle butt when her foster mom gets home from work. She also has developed a love of toys and is a destroyer of squeakers! She has become much more comfortable being around people and other dogs, but she does still get spooked easily. Hadley needs a fenced in yard because when she does get spooked she will try to run and hide. She would do best in a calmer home that does not have small children and one where there isn't a lot of coming and going of new people. She loves to be around the resident dogs and looks for them for comfort and confidence. Having another confident dog around will help Hadley continue learning how to be a dog. She did require slow intros when she was first brought to her foster home but has since met other dogs and didn't have issues. She has done great with being housebroken and hasn't had a single accident in her foster home. Hadley is usually pretty quiet but does bark (and run to hide) if there is a loud noise that scares her. Hadley is looking for a forever home that will continue to show her the ropes on being a dog and be accepting of her quirks.

    Violet

    rescue
    Breed: Doxle
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Beagle / Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat). All our dogs are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. Senior dogs receive extra bloodwork and we try to do dental cleanings on any dogs that need them. Most of the dogs in our care are crate-trained and cat tested. We test with kids when we can. Our process can seem involved and long - we appreciate your patience. Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. ADOPT ME Violet is an eight-year-old beagle/dachshund mix who is more than ready to find her forever home. She has a very funny personality, and her facial expressions are not to be missed. While she’s not a super cuddly dog, Violet adores her people and is never far from her foster mom’s side. In April 2017, we received an emergency message from our local animal shelter about a small beagle mix. It was suspected that she had been hit by a car because she couldn’t use her back legs. Upon arriving at Atlanta Beagle Rescue, the vet found that Violet’s “injuries” were actually degenerative disc disease, and this condition was not new. Violet was also positive for heartworms, but she successfully underwent treatment and is now negative. With the dedication and care of her foster family, Violet has gained back about 75% functioning in her back legs. She will need ongoing care to maintain her gains in her forever home with laser therapy and water therapy. Due to her disc disease, Violet is not 100% housebroken and may never be. However, she is crate-trained and also does well with diapers. Despite these limitations, Violet is healthy! Violet is looking for a very special home that understands her unique personality and ongoing health needs. She would do best in a kid-free home where someone is around during the day or can take her to work with them. Violet is an amazing little lady and she can’t wait to find her forever home! Like what you see? Fill out our online application! We work on a first received, first approved, first adopted basis. We definitely encourage people who are interested in adopting, even if they haven't found the right dog yet, to fill out an application. Our process can take as long as two weeks (we work day jobs!) so having an already approved application speeds things up considerably when you see a dog that catches your eye.
