Dog's Name: Case Estimated Breed : Boston Terrier French Bulldog Mix (as researched in google pics, we really do not know) Approximate Age: 7 years Approximate Weight: approx. 14 lbs Currently Living at: Boarding Adoption Fee: $300 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Case is timid and do better with another doggie in the home for support and confidence. Case is comfortable with all other dogs, but is scared of people, especially if you try to pick him up...he flops around on the end of the leash like a fish out of water, but once you get him in your arms he's relaxed, calm, cool and collected...he'll even give some kisses! Case is SUPER cute and would do great in a home with no young children as he is too timid...he is never aggressive in any way, but it wouldn't be fair to him to be hiding all day. If you have a quiet family that is understanding, patient, and loving, this little dude could definitely benefit from your support, patience, and love. Case would do best in a home with a yard as he is uncomfortable walking onleash once he feels tension on it, and humans make him nervous. This guy survived Parvo as an ADULT because his previous owners never vaccinated and when he ended up at the shelter he was exposed to Parvovirus. We caught it right away and he is doing GREAT! Case is a bit vocal when he he is in his crate, we think it's because he has limited vision and barks for assurance...but only in his crate. He can see, but not 100% clear as he sometimes runs into the crate door if it closed on him...or he stands in the crate with the door wide open because he doesn't realize it is open. But he can see the go out the door, find his food and water bowl, things like that. Cannon loves to be with other dogs, will sometimes grab a stuffed toy, he does enjoy chewing on a deer antler! After he is comfortable with you, which will take some time, he will come up to you and give you some kisses on your hand and allow you to pick him up, albeit apprehensively. If you are committed to adopting and giving this little guy much needed love, patience, and understanding to help him understand how good life can be, please apply by sending your application (http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/s/2016applicationdocx-1.docx) to DenaE@k-9lifesavers.org! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
