Posted Breed: Havanese (long coat). Adoption Fee: $200. Elvis is a good natured guy with good dog and people social skills. He will require regular grooming, but check out those eyelashes...thank you very much! Ritzy Rescue and Posh Puppy are programs created by CVRR to feature Purebred and Designer dogs. Many of our purebreds are rescued from local puppy mills; some are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them. All of our Ritzy and Posh dogs are in need of loving, nurturing homes. Many of them come to us with a serious lack of socialization, malnourished, unvaccinated and desperately in need of grooming and dental care. We place them in foster homes, attend to their physical and emotional needs and begin the process of finding suitable forever homes. If you are interested in providing a loving home for a Ritzy Rescue or Posh Puppy you must complete an online application at .cvrr.us We are only able to respond to interested parties who have completed applications online. Thank you. Many of our dogs can be seen at Petsmart in Visalia on Saturdays between 10 and 3.

How are you? Thanks for stopping to read about me. My name is Ariel. You know, like the mermaid. Yup, that’s me! I’m a 16 lb adult Havanese. I’m a very loving girl! I will love you loads and loads! I should probably be honest and tell you that I’m still new to the rescue thing and learning that hoomans can be trusted. My foster dad is awesome! He’s teaching me all about trusting and love too. I also have some doggie foster siblings and they are helping me learn too. They tell me all kinds of fun stories about how cool hoomans can be. I like to cuddle with them. Cuddles are the pawsomest ever!!!!! My siblings also give me licks and stuff, which is kind of weird because I haven’t experienced that before. I kind of like it because I feel nice and clean afterwards. Plus, it helps me trust them too so I don’t really mind. Don’t tell them I told you though, okay? I don’t want to make them all self-conscious and stuff because then they might stop and secretly I kind of like the licks. My siblings are also trying to teach me how to play. Apparently, it can be super-duper fun. At least that’s what they keep saying, but I’ll just have to give it some time I guess. I do trust them. They only tell me doggie truths, so playing must be fun. I’m just not quite ready yet. I need to take things slow. Like for instance, I really like to be held and cuddled by my foster dad. He is so pawsome! He says that the more he cuddles me, the more I’ll learn that hoomans can be loving too. I like to go on adventures to explore and learn stuff. While I’m hanging in my doggie bed sometimes I’ll miss it and the other doggies will go roaming around. So, I like to venture out and see what they’re all up to. They’re teaching me how to be a doggie. One thing I’m learning is how to do to the bathroom outside! Isn’t that cool? They tell me that you hoomans want us to go outside and so I do it and then when we’re all done we go back inside. I’m also crate trained too. Cool, huh? Sometimes, things will happen that will be scary. Loud noises and lots of commotion can be scary for me. So, when that happens I like to go to my doggie bed. It makes me feel nice and safe. I also will run upstairs to my kennel and take a time out if I want. I like to do that so I don’t get too stressed. Stress isn’t good for ya, you know! What’s really awesome is that my foster dad knows I do this, but you know what? He still tells me that he loves me and that everything will be okay! He really helps me know that he has my back! When I’m not cuddling with him I like to lie in my doggie bed. Oh, I also like treats. I get treats when I do my potties outside. Cheese and freshly cooked chicken are especially yummy. It sort of makes me wish I had to do potties more often! I don’t really play with toys yet, but I’m definitely interested in learning about them. My brother is always trying to get me to play. He gives me toys then takes them away. I think it’s a game. I just don’t really get it quite yet, but he says it’s okay. He says I’ll get the hang of it. I am learning a bit about the walkies, but there are still things that are new and scary, so I might run away; I will definitely need a fenced in yard to keep me nice and safe. When we do go on walkies, I need a specific harness so that I am comfortable and that I’m safe too. A nice, comfy, and protective harness helps make sure I’m safe as I learn. I haven’t been around any cats, but I have been around smaller dogs. I love my doggie siblings! In fact, I love them so much it is important that I have a doggie in my furever home! I haven’t barked hardly at all either. I tend to think that’s because my foster dad and my siblings have done such a great job at helping me learn about love and trust and things. I’ll definitely miss them, but they keep telling me that this furever home thing is just so very amazing that I will be overwhelmed with happiness when I find mine. Plus, they say that it’s their job to help me grow wings so I can have a good life. I don’t know about that, I mean who ever heard of a doggie with wings? Huh? But, if what they say about a furever home is true, they’ve been accurate with everything else they’ve told me, so this must be true too) then I really cannot wait! If you think you might be my furever home, then I cannot wait to meet you and part of your world! I am about 9 years old and 9 lbs of adorable pup. They say that I am a little love bomb! I am a little unsure of new stuff right now, but I never take my big brown eyes off of my humans. I crawl to people for snuggles and love people so much that I put on my brave face and simply go for all the love I can get. Once in your lap, I melt into a pile of mush and could stay there all day. I am submissive though, so I will roll over on my back when you approach me. I love to soak up the sun whether I am inside or outside. I am happy to report that I am potty trained! I go to the bathroom outside or on a potty pad. I have never had an accident in my crate or anywhere for that matter! I do like to be in my kennel with door open or in a wire kennel. I love treats and food. I am on a raw diet. I am working with half of my given teeth but can still chew on bully sticks! I also have some acid reflux. I know- bummer, but I take a pill every other day, so I’m good! I do freeze when leashed but I am working on learning to be better so I won’t need to have a fenced in yard. Oh - I will not do steps at all – scary! Very loud noises and lots of commotion are also very scary for me. I have, however, learned a few commands. Like for instance I know what “kennel” means and also a word for “outside” and “go potty”! Isn’t that cool. I’m learning new things every day. I am a very, very quiet gal. The only time I make any peeps is when I see my beautiful reflection. I like to bark at it and tell my reflection how gorgeous it is. :) In order to get my beauty rest, I sleep all night long and much of the day. A life of sleep, laps, and sun is all I need. I get along with all dogs but prefer small dogs and I will require another pup in my forever home. Since I am still shy, it would be best that if I am in a home without children. I should also not be around cats, as I tend to chase and pester them. I do not play with toys but will play with my foster brother. My foster mom thinks I may become playful as the days go by. Are you imagining me in all my cuteness?! I can! I really am the perfect little girl with tons of potential! I’m Heather. I’m a senior, 10 lb Havanese . Although I am a very distinguished senior who is still quite spunky, I can be a bit timid and curious. I am also very sweet and talkative. I like treats. I also got to chew on a marrow bone for a little bit. That is a kind of a fun treat. I haven’t really gotten into any toys yet but maybe someday. I did get to go burrow in the snow. That was really fun! I’m not quite fully potty trained yet, but I am working on it. I use both potty pads and going outside and I am really close (about 80%) to being fully trained! I am crate trained, but sometimes I will bark in the kennel, especially if I can see my hoomans. In fact, in full dislosure, I do tend to do quite a bit of barkage when I’m alone. I like to be next to them all the time. And I’m a bit afraid of loud noises and overwhelming commotion. I am also not really good with the leash. So, it’ll be important that I have a fenced in yard so that I can play and stuff, and of course go out to do my business. I keep learning and in time I know I’ll get better but right now I tend to get all tangled in the leash. I’m a very happy, bouncy girl who can be a bit shy at first but I warm up very fast. I love belly rubs and sleeping, especially if I get to sleep right next to you! Oh, and treats. I really like treats. One thing I struggle with is being in the car. I get pretty car sick. It used to be every single car ride, but now I’m only sick about once every 3-4 car rides so I am getting better. I’m not sure how I’d be with those small hoomans because I haven’t really been around any. I have, however, been around cats and smaller dogs. All went well. In fact, I like doggies so much it would be best if I have a doggie brother or sister in my furever home. Learning new things can be hard, but I think I’m doing pretty well. I'm proof that an older dog can s till learn stuff. Like for example, I know a word for 'outside'. I am good about sitting too. There is a lot of new things to experience when you come into a home and sometimes things are really scary. When I first got to my foster family’s house, I peed a little when I was scared. But, I’m learning that there is a lot of love and fun that can happen. I’m excited to keep on learning and cannot wait to find my very home furever home made just for me. Location: USA
Posted Breed: Havanese (long coat). Sassy, who weighs 13 pounds, is a happy and healthy seven-year-old Havanese. She enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home. Sassy came to foster care needing to work on her house training. She's done very well with this and is now fully crate-trained. She has learned new rules in her foster home and has responded well to the structure. Sassy does well with both men and women and children over the age of 10. It's unknown how she does with younger children. She used to live with cats and wanted to play with them-- but they weren't fond of her attention! High on Sassy's favorite activities is being with her family and snuggling. She'd love a home of her own with someone who is home much of the time. Her former owner was a senior citizen, and her foster mom thinks Sassy would be most happy as a companion to another senior citizen. If you're already smitten, feel free to complete an application, however, please be aware than our dogs must be in their foster homes for a minimum of two weeks for evaluation. This is for their benefit, and yours, to help ensure a successful placement in a permanent home. A fee will be requested to adopt this dog. The recommended fee amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any. A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!

If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, .breederadoptions and follow the directions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be house and leash trained. Most have never lived in house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion Hi! My name is Gypsy and I am a beautiful Havanese girl who is 6 years old and I weigh 15 pounds. I need a quiet home with no children who would scare me, and I will become your best companion. If you have been waiting for a darling little girl to take everywhere with you and you won't leave me alone, please ask for me on your application. Love, Gypsy 011319-07
