  • Japanese Chin Dog For Adoption in Greensboro, NC, USA

    Gizmo

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Japanese Chin
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Japanese Chin (long coat). Gizmo is an eleven-year-old Japanese Chin who weighs around 11 pounds. He is a delightful little Japanese Chin. He is super sweet with other dogs and people. Gizmo is a gentle, playful and happy little guy who loves belly rubs and being with his people. Gizmo has dry eye which will require Tacrolimus eye drops daily. Due to his untreated dry eye, he has some impaired vision and will need a home without steps or one where he can be carried inside and out . Gizmo’s heart is strong, but we always recommend senior dogs get check-ups every 6 months (including blood work), so please consider this expense when inquiring about Gizmo. Gizmo is leash trained and house trained. We are requiring a home with a securely fenced yard for Gizmo’s adoptive home because he really enjoys doing walk-abouts in the yard. Those who have lived with a Japanese Chin will love and appreciate his darling personality. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptionsgmail. An all adult home with a fenced yard is required to adopt from Hart-2-Heart Rescue. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business days. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Adoption fee is $350. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing.

It's been so rewarding to watch 10lb Geisha discover "how to dog," during her time with in foster care. Recent discoveries include napping on the couch and the amazingness of toys. The squeakier the toy, the better. Geisha is a super friendly dog who shows just how excited she is for mealtime or for you to walk in the front door, by spinning in circles. It's so cute and never gets old! She gets along very well with people and other dogs. She'll need another dog in the home to teach her how to live her best life. Geisha is crate trained and she's learning to walk on a leash like a champ. She's also doing a great job of learning to share her toys and food with her foster fur-sibling. Potty training is a work in progress. If your home could use a little ball of love and light, plan to visit Geisha at an upcoming adoption event or contact us to schedule a private meet and greet. Toys are my favorite! I’m looking for someone who’ll have a lot of toys for me to play tug of war with. My foster brother, who is a 65lb Doberman, does a great job playing with me. At 10lbs, he fits into laps of all sizes while still leaving room for a bowl of popcorn. In all seriousness, Poindexter really is a great companion dog. Once he has a chance to sniff and size up newcomers, he's very friendly and wants nothing more than to be held and petted. He gets along very well with kids too, so if you have any in your home they'll become fast friends. My name is Jester and my foster mom tells me I am something called "food motivated". I'm not sure what that means, but I do know I love tasty things; crunchy kibble, soft food, training teats, good bully sticks for chewing, chicken jerky, you name it. When I hear anything that sounds like a zip top bag being opened, I run over to the human and do a happy dance up on my hind legs. I will do just about anything for a treat, my foster mom says that makes me easy to train, I hope that's a good thing! I’ve already learned some words: ‘kennel’, ‘wait’, ‘leave it’, a command word for ‘outside’, and ‘go potty’. I like to play with toys, a lot, and other dogs too. The dogs at my foster home don't really like it when I put my paws right on them and try to get them to play with me, so they growl a little bit. But I can catch a hint, so I leave them alone (for now!) and go find one of my squeaky or crackly toys to shake to death. I play with my foster humans too, I just like being active and finding new ways to have fun. Chasing my own bouncy ball around the house is one of the best things ever! And when I'm done doing my Tasmanian devil impersonation, I'll settle into a dog bed with one of my chewies before taking a nap. I sleep in my crate at night, where I stay quiet, neat, and tidy. I also wait quietly in my crate while my foster brothers eat their meals, as I tend to forget that eating their dinner(s) isn't my reward for finishing my dinner first! I have mastered the stairs, both up and down, and I potty outside on a schedule. This just means I know I must potty outside, but I haven't mastered a way to tell you I need to go outside, as my foster mom takes all of us out at the same time on a schedule. I am working on my leash skills; I love to go for walkies, the longer the better, but I don't have the best manners yet. Instead of following the leader (my foster mom says this weird word, 'heel', to get my attention), I'd rather meander behind her and sniff all over. I just want to know everything about everything when I'm outside! But then she plays my brain against my tummy and carries a treat in her hand, then I know where to focus my attention! Just admit it, you have searched far and wide for a pupper this amazing and it seems that your search has finally ended. I am the kind of guy that you will only come across once in your lifetime, so you can't let the chance to take me home slip through your fingers. I am loving, sweet, smart, and if all of that doesn't convince you, then just look at this adorable face! Posted Breed: Japanese Chin (medium coat). Hi! My name is Odin. I am a 3-4 year old Japanese Chin. I am very sweet and love people. Cats are okay too. PNC is still learning about me so check back for updates. My adoption donation is $ 350 + $ 24.50 Tax. All dogs are current on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and on preventative, microchipped and if recommended by a Vet have had a dental cleaning and other treatment to get and keep them healthy while in the rescues care. All dogs are living in foster homes and house manners including potty training and any behavioral issues are being worked on. But we never say our dogs are 100% house trained as when they transition to a new home there can be accidents while they adjust to a new environment and schedule. PNC Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit and any and all donations over and above the adoption donation are tax deductible. We have a large group of dogs in our Furever Foster program that acts as a foster based sanctuary for dogs not likely to be adopted. The rescue keeps these dogs healthy, comfortable and on necessary medications with necessary treatments for life. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email, pncmidwestrescue1gmail and remember we are all volunteers. Your patience is appreciated!

DOB: Approximately 9 years old Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area "Someone will be VERY, VERY blessed and lucky to get this sweet girl!!!!!!" That's a direct quote from Aria's foster mom and all those exclamation points are no exaggeration. This 10lb senior pup loves life and will bring a whole bunch of it to your home. She's funny and happy, very affectionate - seriously, she lives for an afternoon of snuggling on the couch and is super outgoing. Aria is a true companion who will be part of your everyday activities. Are you watching TV? So's Aria. Having some friends over to hang out? Aria will be right there. Washing dishes or cleaning up around the house? OK, Aria's not going to help out with the dishes, but she will happily watch from the sidelines while you do. Aria would thrive in a home where her people are around a lot to give her plenty of attention, but if that's not possible we believe she needs another dog in the house to keep her company. Aria has mastered crate training and enjoys lounging in hers. She's working on her leash skills, which are coming along nicely and potty training is also in progress. She's getting close on that one, especially when on a consistent schedule. Aria is a kind soul who will bring so much love and joy to your home. If you'd like to meet her, come say at an upcoming adoption event or contact us to schedule a private meet and greet. Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: .underdogrescuemn/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at .underdogrescuemn/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website .underdogrescuemn/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog.
