    Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Hound / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300. Sweet April is a very friendly, typical goofy hound. She's between 1-2 years old and 28 lbs. She met some children and kid tested well, just wanted to run around and sniff and play. April also spent some time meeting several doggie friends and was social with everyone, although a home without kitties would be best for her. April is a gentle, mellow, beauty and enjoys her time with people as well as other dogs. She's a stunning tail wagger and all the Hound lovers out there will appreciate those long ears and long legs. April was very thin when she arrived at the shelter but since then she has filled out nicely. April would love taking walks with her new owner, or having a big yard to run and play in. When it's time to relax, she's ready to be a loving companion and settle down onto a nice soft dog bed or even the couch if her new family wants to cuddle. April will be coming up from SC on March 2nd so please stop by an upcoming Meet & Greet to find out if April is the right one for you! Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300. Violet's is a wonderful, friendly 5-6 yr old pit bull terrier mix who is in need of a new home due to family issues and a change in their living situation. Here's her information from her family: Violet loves, loves to give lots of licks to everyone and is used to being kissed and pet by me/others. Violet was raised with my 10 year old male Bulldog mix who recently passed away. They played well with each other every day. Violet is amazing with adults and kids. My husband had over 300 clients who came to our home to get their taxes done and she was great with everyone. I walk her daily on a leash and she runs in our fenced in back yard. Violet is my WORLD!!!! She is an AMAZING dog. Everyone who meets Violet says, "She is so pretty. She has beautiful markings." Violet was born a Blue, but by 1 & 1/2 years old turned Fawn colored. In addition, Violet has white markings around her neck, nose, all four paws, belly and the tip of her tail. She has light GREEN eyes and a PERFECT fawn colored heart shaped nose. She now weighs 59.4 pounds. Violet walks well on a leash, but can easily run if adopted by a runner. No cats or small dogs for Violet. Violet has been through training and her trainer has offered an hour session to whoever adopts her. Please email Almost Home Dog Rescue to find out if Violet is the right one for you! Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300. "Available for adoption is the sweetest 2-year old pitbull (about 47 lbs). Frankie loves to give affection, and we’d bet she’s the best snuggler in Philadelphia. She’s incredibly smart and willing to please her owners. Frankie was a stray who we found in Chester, PA. We brought her to the vet, who gave her the necessary shots, as well as a flea bath. Since then, she has been living with us and is so incredibly sweet. She was spayed in mid February and is now fully healed. Frankie is a true companion dog, who always looks to stay by your side and loves to be pet. She’s fully potty-trained and knows basic commands like sit exceptionally well. She’s well behaved around strangers but does not get along with other dogs. She's looking for a home with older children because of her strength and excitability. " Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogsyahoo to find out if Frankie is the right one for you! Posted Breed: Boerboel Mastiff. Adoption Fee: 425.00. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief description: Meet Queen! Queen is an energetic 11 month old who loves her family. She loves playing tug, catch the ball and fetching sticks. She does well with well-mannered dogs. Queen is very respectful of the things in the house and is careful not to drop, chew or bump into anything in her foster home (she is big and she knows it). She enjoys hiking and going for long walks with a strong and assertive leader. On her walks she tries to tug but is very responsive to verbal commands. She also enjoys sprawling on the couch while she waits to play or go out for a walk. Queen has great manners and is both house- and crate-trained in addition to knowing many different commands. She sure is a leader and has a strong personality. She is most happy when she is with people. She will need a family that has experience with large, assertive breeds. Likes: Queen loves to play rough. She can chew a ball, a bone, a rope .. anything you give her gets played to bits. She loves it. She loves chasing and being chased. She is clumsy when she stops mid way through her run. Dislikes: CATS. Queen hates being left alone. She will lie around on the floor next to you, on the ground, on the floor, in a pile of books, anywhere as long as she is with you. She will use you as a pillow whenever she can. She still thinks she is a lap dog and will try and fit into your lap. Personality: She is a big goofball. She would run up and down looking for her foster family kids even if they are in the same room. She has learned to open doors with her mouth, so when you’re sleeping in she would open the door and be in your bed waking you up. She is a very intelligent dog. She is not a dog that licks a lot. Temperament: she is very calm and patient when you need her to be. She will sit still when asked to. Rest of the time she is a BIG puppy. She is a little shy to new things. But warms up really quick. Energy level: she does have a lot of stamina. She can hike, run and play without stopping. Favorite activities: playing tug is her most favorite game. Good with dogs, and kids over 6?: she is very good with kids. She needs a home that has a strong and assertive leader who she can look up to. She will need continued training and socialization. Breed: Mutt
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: USA
Distance: Aprox. 19.1 mi from Doylestown
Posted Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Adoption Fee: 425.00. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief Description: Jack is a 3 year old neutered Cane Corso. Jack found himself in the back of a pick-up truck in Eastern PA. Jack had a rough start as he spent a lot of time in the shelter before being adopted. Jack suddenly lost his home and family and was rehomed. After that we are unsure how he ended up in the bed of a truck. You would never know that Jack hasn’t had human love most of his life. Jack is ready for a family to give him all the love he deserves and wants to give it back tenfold! Likes: Jack loves to play soccer and any type of ball. He loves to be cuddled up next to you on the couch, or just chilling at your feet. Dislikes: CATS! Nail trims Personality: Jack is a sweet, goofy, vocal boy! He loves to be outside playing ball, but also can become a total couch potato a minute later. He is strong and a bit overweight so daily walks to improve leash skills and help shed some of that extra weight would be helpful! Jack would benefit from training classes as he is a big, strong fella. He is getting better on the leash daily! He knows some basic commands such as sit and gentle. Jack is working on leave, stay and come and he seems to be catching on quickly. Jack will definitely let you know when he is hungry, wants to play or needs to go out to potty. He is very vocal and likes to “talk” to you! Temperament: Jack has a very even temperament thus far. No issues with adults, older children or female dogs he has met. Due to his breed he will not be placed in a home with other male dogs . Energy Level: He can go from a very active playful boy to a couch potato in minutes. Favorite Activities: Couch Cuddles and playing ball! Good with: Dogs and people. Has had no issues with strangers yet. True to his breed he warms up to people and dogs as he gets more comfortable.Slow intros are helpful. Jack tested well with the female dogs in his foster homes. Not good with: No Cats Please! Right now he hates his nails trimmed and must be sedated but after building some trust that may not be needed. We have been working on touching his paws and he is getting better with that. Housetrained: Yes – He will let you know with a couple barks and will go to the door! Crate Trained: Jack likes his crate and will go in on his own if he wants down time. If he is crated overnight and he needs out, he will let you know. Challenges: He does not have leash manners, but is learning. Jack would definitely benefit from training to help him blossom more. He can get overly excited while playing, but he seems to listen well and calms quickly. Medical Issues: Jack is a bit overweight so he needs to lose some pounds. The best home for Jack would be with an active family who wants to take him for walks and play ball with him. The home should be cat and male dog free. Jack would benefit with a female dog companion if owners will be away for work and school. New owners must be committed to help jack continue with his leash and manners training so Jack can be a great ambassador for the breed! Jack will only be adopted to a home without other male bully breeds to prevent same sex aggression which is common for the breed. Fostered in Monessen, PA. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our funds are used for rescuing the dogs.
