Description
Posted Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Toy Terrier / Mixed. Rosie and Posie are a sweet, beautiful pair of litter mate sisters who have a special, loving bond that is very endearing. They are about 12 years old but full of energy and enthusiasm. Rosie and Posie are happy girls who love to run in the yard and romp around together, usually with their tails wagging. These sisters could not be more at ease with each other, and very much want attention and love from people, but can be skiddish with strangers. They will need a patient person, who is willing to give them extra time, and possibly come to meet with them more than once if necessary. Also, their new home should have a fenced yard. Rosie is about 15 pounds and lighter colored in the face. Posie is about 20 pounds. They are really very sweet and friendly girls who just need the right person and home to meet their full potential. If you believe you are a great match for Rosie and Posie, please put in an application today. Please watch the video at the end of the photos to see these gorgeous girls in action.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
