Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky. Azul was one of those New York City Street kids, just a year-old pup when he was saved by Husky House. Azul is very smart and picks his humans to love. He is a large, handsome boy with a strong personality. He will need an experienced owner who is patient and will provide him with the training he needs to be the best he can be. Azul would do best in an adult home (no children). Previous large dog experience a must to be considered for adoption. Please no homes with cats or small animals. So, if you are that special someone that will be picked by Azul to love, if you think that you understand a guy who had to live out on the streets and is more cautious until he trusts you, then please apply to adopt Azul at .huskyhouse

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
