Description
Posted Breed: Bull Terrier (short coat). Meet Moo! Moo is a 10 year old old Bull Terrier. Moo is an alpha female with an independent streak, so she needs a very confident and experienced owner. She would do best with a strict schedule, loads of exercise and a lot of training to keep her engaged. Moo needs a home without other animals, and not recommended for a home with children. She would take well to consistent training. Moo would also need a home with a fence. Moo is a love bug, just needs that "person" that can give her what she needs! If you are familiar with Bull Terriers and love this sweet girl as much as we do, fill out an application at .barktownrescue. MOO'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100 The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess. Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up. All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in. Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!

Overview:
The Bull Terrier, instantly recognizable by its unique egg-shaped head and small, triangular eyes, is a captivating breed with a rich history. Originating in 19th-century England as a cross between the Bulldog and the now-extinct White English Terrier, they were initially bred for fighting but quickly transitioned to companionship. Physically, they are sturdy and muscular, coming in two size varieties: Standard and Miniature, both boasting a short, dense coat that is easy to maintain. In terms of temperament, Bull Terriers are known for their playful, mischievous, and affectionate nature. They are highly energetic and intelligent, requiring consistent training and plenty of exercise to prevent boredom. While generally good with children when properly socialized, their high energy makes them better suited for active families. They can adapt to apartment living if their exercise needs are met, but a yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they can be prone to certain conditions like deafness, patellar luxation, and skin allergies, making regular veterinary check-ups essential for a long and happy life with these devoted companions.
