Description
Posted Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $ 250.00. Please contact Ashley (ha.evansyahoo) for more information about this pet. Online Adoption Application › Renn is a sweet female shepherd mix. She's currently in a foster home learning that humans aren't all bad. She has never been mean or expressed any form aggression in any way but she is sadly still pretty fearful of new people. She is looking for a home that will be willing to give her the time and tlc she needs & deserves. She loves other dogs and has been very sweet to the kitties in her foster home as well. A secure physical fence will be required to adopt Renn as she still is considered a high flight risk. CARE is an all-volunteer and foster-based rescue organization. We do not have a shelter facility and do not have any employees monitoring inbound applications and emails. Applications are reviewed by each animal’s volunteer foster home. It may be several days before you hear from this animal’s foster home. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our foster volunteers work to navigate a very high volume of inbound adoption applications.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
