Posted Breed: Unknown breed. IN VERMONT Meet Molly! More pictures and video to come! Molly is 9 years old (approx. DOB 10-7-15, female, 65 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. Molly is good with other dogs but likes to be "queen bee". She loves to sniff of course, has medium energy, is potty trained, and loves her toys! Miss Molly would love to be in a home where she can be the center of attention; she loves to snuggle and wants to please you. She gets really excited at meal time or when she knows there are treats. Molly knows Sit, Stay, and Paw! Her ideal home would have older kids and have space outside so be able to run around and sniff. She loves to put her nose to the ground and explore on leashed walks and hikes! Miss Molly would love a home with one or two people and while she has done well with calmer dogs should would prefer to be the center of attention where she will get spoiled and all the love. She is essentially looking for a companion or “her” person but she is also incredibly smart and easily adaptable and trainable. Stay tuned for more information as Molly is a new rescue! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
