Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Cotton! Sweet Cotton was rescued in South Korea. He did not have a great start in life and as a result is a very timid and shy boy. He needs time and patience to trust people. Cotton needs a home with another confident dog who will help him continue to gain confidence. He needs a secure fenced yard in a more quiet area. He does not like a chaotic household. Cotton is not used to being around young children and would find that a little scary. We would like to see him in a child-free home. Cotton is a very sweet boy and we hope to find him a family who can be patient with him and allow him to blossom. Cotton is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at .savinggreatanimals and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
