Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). How to Adopt Holly is a beautiful 3-year-old Husky mix with a shiny coat, webbed feet, and a heart full of love. She’s energetic—as young dogs often are—and adores playtime with her foster brothers and sisters. Holly is potty trained (she uses a dog door) and knows basic commands. She’s a big fan of squeaky toys, balls, and a good game of tug-of-war! She also does wonderfully at the dog park and enjoys going on neighborhood walks. At night, Holly loves to snuggle up and sleep beside her people. She came to us with her Husky mom (shown in the other picture), and her DNA test results are available in her photos. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and active companion—or a perfect playmate for your dog—Holly might just be the one!

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
