Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Wilson is a wonderful, loving boy. One would wonder why? He and another small dog were left abandoned when the owner moved to another home. They were left with no shelter. Thankfully a neighbor fed and watered them and eventually, reached out for help. He was adopted out to a wonderful family but unfortunately, they have another dog and he and the other dog would periodically have a quarrel. There was an incident and the adopter felt more comfortable having him placed into a home without other pups. He would do best in a home where his adopter just wants a companion animal... someone to love them unconditionally. He is such a good boy. He is crate trained but does not need one. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
