Description
Posted Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). How to Adopt Ellie Sue is a super sweet happy chihuahua. She isn't for everyone so please read carefully before you apply to adopt. Ellie Sue will steal your heart. That being said, before you apply you need to accept 2 conditions. Ellie Sue has a cataract that requires eye meds. They come from the compounder and she needs to see the opthamalogist. The meds run about $50.00 a month and will be reqired for life. It is not optional it is a requirement to adopt her, Ellie Sue is also quite a vocal girl. She believes it is her job to let you know that the wind is blowing. If the other dogs are playing she sits on the sidelines and shouts out her cheers and excitement like a sports announcer. When you leave she likes to be the town crier and let everyone know. She likes to express herself with some obsessive barking. It isn't going to change. This is how she is. If you can't accept it, move on to another dog. She doesn't need to be tortured with someone spraying water at her or discipling her. We don't want her to go into a home like that. If you tell her to tone it down she will but you will spend all day doing that. So either live with it or choose another pup. Now, if you got this far and want to know about her, then read on. Ellie Sue starts out a little shy. But once she is feeling safe she wants to crawl in your lap and stay there forever if she could. She's not clingy or needy, she simply loves her person. And if you aren't around she would be okay climbing into a bed as sharing it with an equally nice chihuahua or similar mate especially on a cold day! She tends to like males a touch more, She thinks its always cold like most chihuahuas do! That being said, she is quite content to sit outside in the sunshine even on a chillier day. Having a nice yard to bask in the sun makes her very happy Ellie Sue is both pee pad trained and outside trained. She really likes to go outside but giving her the option especially in rotten weather is quite convenient, Ellie Sue is fully vetted. She has been spayed, vaccinated, had a dental, and microchipped. Her adoption donation is $500.00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family, Little dogs can live a long life so she wants to be sure all applicants will stick with her for better or for worse! Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
