Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). The first thing youâll notice about Murphy is his stubby little tail wagging like crazy when you get close to him. Heâs a very friendly boy! Heâs known to mark you as a friend of his with a little bit of drool. Loose in the play yard heâll keep himself entertained for the most part â heâs not needy, but he does enjoy having you playfully chase him! Itâs pretty much his favorite game. He gets serious when the treats come out and is happy to sit on command. He also appreciates being pet and will thank you with a sweet kiss or two. He's gotten along well with other dogs in shelter playgroups. Murphy has an average energy level and would love to meet you! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
