Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed. Do you need some love today? Khloe is here and ready to give it to you with her darling face and gentle demeanor! Khloe is a 4-year-old, 61 pound, cattle dog mix who loves gentle pets, a roll in your sunny yard, booty scratches, and other dogs. She’s good on a leash and is working on building her confidence. Her ideal adopter is one who will continue to work with her on her training, including that last part. Khloe had a close call and was rescued by her friends at TLRD on the day that was set to be her last (by no fault of her own). We are just getting to know her but already love what a sweet soul she is and can’t wait to help her find the foster or better yet furever home she so deserves. If you are ready to love and be loved by Khloe, please fill out an application today!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
