Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 225. This adorable brindle boy is Roger and we believe he's a hound mix who was born on 4/5/23. His Mom is an adorable hound mix who only weighs 35 but we're not sure about his Dad, other than being good looking. His Mom showed up at some kind people's home and they noticed she'd been shot!!! Shortly after arriving, Mom gave birth to a litter of puppies. Roger is going to be a medium sized dog when fully grown, so we like to recommend a home with a fenced in backyard and/or plans for daily exercise and socialization. Amazing Grace Bully Rescue is a foster based rescue in the Pensacola, Florida area. We do not have a physical building. If you would like to meet any of our pups, the first step is to fill out our online application so we can contact you. Roger has had four sets of puppy shots, two dewormings (done prior to adoption), is neutered, current on shots, rabies vaccine, and a registered microchip. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
