Description
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed (long coat). *This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Turkey! After 15 years, senior gentleman Turkey (nicknamed Turk) finds himself in a sad spot: he needs a new home because his parents divorced and left him behind. Fortunately, Angels 4 Paws Animal Rescue stepped up to provide Turk with a loving foster home! They are also arranging for him to have a much-needed dental. Turk is described as sweet, mellow boy who is an easy-to-please homebody. He is good with people of all of all ages, and loves nothing more than sitting next to someone on the couch and being petted. Turk prefers wandering around the yard to long walks, and as soon as he goes potty, he likes to come right back inside. He takes naps throughout the day and enjoys yummy treats. If you are interested in giving wonderful Turk a loving home for his golden years, please contact Holly at Angels4Paws Animal Rescue by phone or text at 305-798-3523 or email hollyangels4paws.us *Frosted Faces Foundation has not assessed this dog medically or behaviorally.*

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
